Trainer – Effective Communication
SCOPE OF WORK, QUALIFICATIONS AND TARGET PARTICIPANTS
The Effective Communication Trainer will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to advanced learners.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to design a structured 2-days training curriculum and deliver the training to participants.
- Develop training materials including slide decks, activity guides, handouts, and follow-up reference materials to reinforce learning and long-term skill retention.
- Mentor participants through individual or group communication projects, and provide constructive feedback to enhance clarity, confidence, tone, and impact to participants.
- Conduct a post-training assessment to evaluate participant progress and training effectiveness.
- Prepare a final report summarizing training outcomes, participant performance, and recommendations.
- Training Curriculum to be delivered:
- Effective Internal Communication and Team Collaboration: Strengthen day-to-day communication within and across teams to support better coordination, timely decision-making, and collaborative working culture. Learn effective meeting practices, reporting structures, and feedback techniques.
- Self-Leadership Communication: Develop the ability to communicate with clarity, confidence, and authority in self-leadership and teamwork leadership. Focus on framing strategic messages, managing upward communication, and projecting credibility in high-level settings.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Sector Communication: Build skills to engage effectively in physical and digital with ministries, investors, development partners, and other stakeholders. Learn techniques for negotiation, consensus-building, and cross-cultural communication in policy and investment contexts.
- Emotional Intelligence for Communication and Self-Leadership: Understand and manage your emotions to enhance interpersonal effectiveness. Learn to read social cues, respond with empathy, navigate conflict, and build trust within teams and across stakeholders.
- Public Speaking and High-Stakes Presentation: Enhance skills for delivering persuasive and professional presentations to senior officials, international partners, or investor audiences. Practice structuring key messages, managing Q&A, and using visual aids effectively.
- Building Confidence and Personal Communication Style: Strengthen self-awareness, authenticity, and communication resilience. Learn techniques to boost confidence, overcome nervousness, and develop a communication style that aligns with your leadership and professional role.
- A university degree in communications, education, psychology, business, public administration, or a related field (Master Degree preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in delivering communication training for adult learners, preferably in multicultural or public-private sector environments.
- Proven ability to train professionals at mid-to-senior levels across diverse sectors.
- Strong knowledge of communication frameworks, tools, and assessment techniques.
- Demonstrated experience designing interactive training modules and coaching participants through practical application.
- Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and feedback skills.
