Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility in working hours by agreement.

We are looking for a Strategic Communications & Engagement Senior Officer join our team and help us achieve our vision, mission, values, and goals. You will be playing a key role in strengthening This Life’s public voice, organisational visibility, and engagement with partners, donors, and broader audiences. Reporting to the Director of Shared Services, the role leads the development of strategic communications that translate program evidence and community impact into compelling narratives that support awareness, partnerships, and influence.
Working closely with program teams, the Executive Team, the Strategic Engagement team, the Strategic Engagement Committee, and the ILE team, the role ensures that insights generated through organisational data and learning systems are effectively communicated through digital platforms, campaigns, publications, and media engagement. The Senior Officer develops high-quality bilingual communications (Khmer and English) that strengthen This Life’s brand, amplify community-led impact, and increase organisational visibility locally and internationally, while contributing to the continuous improvement of communications systems, digital platforms, and content workflows that support effective engagement and organisational growth.
- Strategic Communications & Public Engagement
- Collaborate with the Strategic Engagement Committee by preparing communications materials, insights, and briefings that support its advisory role on fundraising, partnerships, and external engagement, and translate Committee advice into communications and engagement initiatives for This Life.
- Develop and implement communications approaches that strengthen This Life’s visibility, reputation, and engagement with partners, donors, and wider audiences.
- Identify opportunities to position This Life’s programs and learning within national and international development conversations.
- Support public campaigns, awareness initiatives, and storytelling that amplify community-led solutions and organisational priorities.
- Evidence Translation & Strategic Storytelling
- Work closely with program teams, and the ILE team to translate program evidence and learning into compelling narratives.
- Transform insights generated through organisational data systems into accessible content for diverse audiences.
- Identify storytelling opportunities that highlight program impact, community leadership, and organisational learning.
- Digital Communications & Campaigns
- Manage and strengthen This Life’s digital communications platforms, including the website, social media channels, and digital campaigns.
- Coordinate the communications calendar and support the planning and delivery of digital campaigns and newsletters.
- Monitor digital engagement data and recommend improvements that strengthen audience reach and impact.
- Brand Communication, Design & Publications
- Produce high-quality bilingual publications including reports, presentations, case studies, and media materials.
- Ensure consistent branding, messaging, and visual identity across all communications outputs.
- Support the development of communications materials used for donor engagement, partnerships, and organisational visibility.
- Compliance, Safeguarding & Ethical Communications
- Ensure communications outputs comply with donor visibility requirements including DFAT and ANCP where applicable.
- Maintain ethical storytelling practices and obtain informed consent for communications materials.
- Maintain organised media archives of communications assets including photographs, videos, and publications.
- Ensure all communications align with This Life’s safeguarding, child protection, and PSEAH standards.
- Salary USD (based on experience and qualifications), plus private insurance, NSSF coverage, and annual leave and public holiday in accordance with the Cambodian Labour Law.

- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, International Development, or a related field.
- Relevant professional experience in communications, digital engagement, marketing, public storytelling, or external communications within NGOs, development organisations, media, or related sectors for 3 to 5 years as a minimum
- Strong written and spoken Khmer, with good working proficiency in English, and the ability to produce clear, engaging bilingual communications.
- Demonstrated experience developing communications content across digital platforms, publications, and campaigns.
- Ability to translate complex program information, research findings, or organisational insights into accessible narratives for diverse audiences.
- Experience contributing to communications strategies that strengthen organisational visibility, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with digital communication platforms such as social media, website content management systems (e.g., WordPress), and communications analytics tools.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple communications outputs and deadlines.
- Strong writing and editing skills in Khmer and English, with the ability to produce clear and engaging communications content.
- Understanding of ethical storytelling, safeguarding, and responsible communications practices when working with communities and vulnerable groups.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to contribute innovative ideas that strengthen organisational communications, engagement, and public visibility.
