Position Summary

Classification: Consultant

Type of Appointment: Six-month consultancy contract

Context:

Under the office of the Chief of Mission, the consultancy will support stakeholder engagement, coordination and policy work for the IOM Cambodia mission across the range of projects and policy initiatives that the mission is implementing.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Roles and Responsibilities:
  • In coordination with the Chief of Mission, maintain regular communication with relevant authorities and stakeholders, including through attendance at meetings and workshops, and drafting of letters and other formal correspondence. Share feedback from meetings with relevant staff and centralize meeting notes, government communications and relevant documentation appropriately.
  • Prepare presentations, analysis, and policy briefs related to migration in Cambodia, as well as develop concept notes, talking points, key messages, remarks and other products.
  • Organize workshops, roundtable discussions, and other events to raise awareness on migration governance and management, and other key topics.
  • Support stakeholder engagement through stakeholder mapping, regular communication, organization of engagement events and forums, and technical and policy discussions.
  • Support policy development and initiatives designed to support Cambodia in the implementation of the Global Compact for Migration, as well as other IOM policy initiatives.
  • Support the Chief of Mission in developing and implementing a strategic and coordinated approach to government engagement.
  • Perform any other duties and tasks as required.
  • Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
  • Monthly work plan, and monthly progress report, as well as check-in with supervisor as requested.
Requirements:
  • Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Education
  • University degree in business, law, political science, or other relevant fields
  • Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in coordination, policy work, and liaising with governments and other related areas, preferably within the United Nations or International Humanitarian Organizations.
  • Skill
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
  • Experienced Reporting Skills
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively and harmoniously within a team
  • Languages
  • Fluency in English and Khmer is required.
