Interpreters/Translator Vietnamese – Khmer
This Scope of Work (SOW) outlines roles and responsibilities for a contractor to provide translation and interpretation service to the evaluation team of Women Safe Rural Migration in Cambodia (WARM) project, implemented by Cambodia Women’s Crisis Center (CWCC), monitored by Action on Poverty (AOP).
Contract Duration & Location
The evaluation will be conducted in Kampong Thom, Cambodia. The estimated timeframe for the assignment is 21-25 April 2025
- Scope of works
- The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Translation of Evaluation Materials: Translate evaluation tools, guides, and questionnaires from English/Vietnamese to Khmer and vice versa, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and cultural sensitivity.
- Data Collection Support: Assist in conducting In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with the project participants, providing real-time interpretation to facilitate communication.
- Survey Facilitation: Support the administration and collection of survey questionnaires, ensuring respondents fully understand the questions.
- The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Fluency in Vietnamese, and Khmer (both written and spoken). Proficiency in English is an advantage.
- Prior experience working on women’s rights, migration, or similar community-based projects is highly preferred.
- Sensitized on the ethical and cultural norms in local context.
- Awareness of ethical considerations and cultural norms relevant to the project context.
