Field Supervisor
Job Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia (with required travel to various provinces)
Report to: Research Coordinator
Job Type: Part-Time (Indefinite Quantity Contract)
The Field Supervisor needs to ensure the data collection in the field is conducted smoothly, timely, and in compliance with the study protocol.
- Actively participate in and attend research training sessions as scheduled.
- Lead and supervise the interviewers in the field according to the study methodology.
- Coordinate with local authorities to obtain necessary permissions and other requirements within the study boundary.
- Clearly define the boundaries of each geographic unit relevant to the study.
- Check all complete questionnaires to ensure consistency and completeness. The number of questionnaires checked may vary based on the survey type.
- Collaborate closely with interviewers to correct any mistakes in the questionnaires.
- Ensure effective team dynamics and time management within assigned areas.
- Reporting activities, outputs, and challenges to the research coordinator/research manager at the end of each day.
- Submit a manual field summary report upon task completion.
- Degree in a relevant field (or currently pursuing).
- Minimum 2 years of working experience as supervisor.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
- High commitment to task completion.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt flexibly.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willing to travel to provinces, including remote areas.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and data collection techniques (preferred).
- Proficient in Khmer and English (at least working knowledge).
- Able to use smartphones/tablets for data collection.
Interviewer

Interviewer plays a crucial role in collecting data and ensuring the process is completed on schedule and maintains high quality and accuracy.
- Actively participate in and attend scheduled research training sessions.
- Perform interviews with the target population as outlined in the study methodology.
- Ensure that all questionnaires are completed accurately and of a high quality.
- Follow timelines as defined by the PSI/C research team to ensure timely data collection.
- Report any problems or obstacles encountered during fieldwork to team Supervisor or PSI research team if needed.
- Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (or currently pursuing).
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a data collector or interviewer for quantitative studies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and anonymity of participants.
- Strong interpersonal skills: responsible, punctual, attentive listener, and adaptable.
- Willing to work within flexible hours and travel to provinces.
- Proficient in using smartphones/tablets for data collection.
