Sansom Mlup Prey Organization (SMP) is a registered local non-profit organization in Cambodia, officially recognized by the Ministry of Interior on June 17, 2009. The organization focuses on promoting sustainable agricultural practices and linking agricultural products to markets to improve farmers' livelihoods and support the conservation of natural resources. SMP works in partnership with local communities living in and around protected areas and wildlife sanctuaries across Cambodia. SMP provides farmer’s training and capacity building for both men and women to participate equally in improving livelihoods and conserving natural resources by adhering to the laws governing protected areas. To date, SMP has built the agricultural capacity of more than 4,000 farming households who are producing rice organic (Ibis rice), Rice Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) and crop diversification in cashew farming. These households are in and around protected areas and wildlife sanctuaries in the five provinces of Preah Vihear, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Kampong Thom, and Siem Reap.
