Cambodian Water Supply Association

Cambodia’s clean water supply sector has expanded significantly, particularly through private water operators (PWOs) in rural and peri-urban areas. However, the sector continues to face skills and gender gaps, including limited availability of job-ready technical staff, particularly women, and limited pathways from education into employment in water utilities. The Young Water Engineers Internship Program, to be implemented by the Cambodia Water Supply Association (CWA), with support from Australia through the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), aims to address these constraints by placing young engineers, especially female engineers, with host PWOs and selected consulting firms to gain practical experience and strengthen the technical capacity of the clean water sector.
