Employer Description

The World Health Organization has allocating funding to recruit a local technical assistant to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health (MoH) especially the National Nutrition Programme (NNP) of the National Maternal and Child Health Center (NMCHC) in the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of the country's response to reduce maternal and child morbidity and mortality with particular focus on reduction of double burden of malnutrition (burden of undernutrition, overweight and obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through the strengthening of implementation of growth monitoring and promotion (GMP) in coordination with other relevant health sectors including expanding programme of immunization (EPI) and integrated management of childhood illnesses (IMCI). The Officer will also assist in linking and integrating the programme with other health sector responses including support the key activities of baby friendly hospital initiative for improving breastfeeding promotion into the existing interventions for quality improvement of early essential newborn care (EENC). He/she will also support the functioning of the Oversight Board and Executive Working Group for enforcing the implementation of Sub-Decree 133 of marketing of products for infant and young child feeding. The contract will be for 6 months (July-December 2021) with possible extension to 2022. LTA will be based in Phnom Penh. Applications from women are encouraged.
