Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is a local organization; we believe that providing women with access to information and knowledge is the most effective method of self-empowerment. Since 2010, we have endeavored to change the climate of silence and inaction in Siem Reap and the surrounding communities. First and foremost, we are a drop-in center where local women can safely ask questions regarding any aspect of their own life and their child’s life.

Position Summary

Salary ranges from $350- $400 per month with benefits offered, depending on experiences and qualifications.

The Women’s Resource Center is currently hiring a self-motivated woman for the full-time position of Women’s rights and Gender. The Women’s rights and Gender should demonstrate initiative and have a desire to work in the field of girls and women’s empowerment, concentrating on the promotion of women’s rights and gender equality as well as to access to legal information and support.

The Women’s Rights and Gender Coordinator is responsible for implementing, facilitating, and coordinating workshops relating to women’s rights, gender equality &equity, and workshops that focus on critical life skills, including leadership, communication, and personal development. These programs empower girls to build confidence and become active participants in their communities. H/she will work with the program team and program manager to run the program that aligns with WRC’s objectives and goals.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate women’s rights and gender programs for girls and youths in the community.
  • Prepare workshop curriculums and lesson plans for the center and school outreach
  • Conduct women’s rights and gender workshop for target schools and communities in Siem Reap.
  • Prepare and complete the workshop report after each workshop or activity conducted
  • Ensure that programs and projects are in line with WRC’s mission and focus while establishing WRC’s reputation in the community amongst clients and organizations
  • Initiate strategies to provide outreach and knowledge of WRC’s services to women in the community
  • Establish relationships and coordinate with government agencies and organizations working on behalf of women in Cambodia
  • Create partnerships with organizations by assessing and evaluating their work to ensure that it complements WRC’s mission and values
  • Assist the women and girls by providing legal information and support with the appropriate information and services; accompany them to supporting partner organizations if needed
  • Compile and maintain a library of resources including information pamphlets, brochures, contact cards, books, magazines and newspapers etc
  • Represent and promote WRC’s work in the community
  • Assist another program which runs as a team.
  • Translate all necessary documents from Khmer to English and vice versa
  • Prepare monthly reports and progress updates to program manager
  • Participating in staff training and other capacity building as required
  • Participate networks meetings or events outside of WRC.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Must have a desire to support and empower women and girls in Cambodia
  • Must have a degree of Law or relevant
  • Must understand women’s rights, gender equality/gender based-violence, basic sexual reproductive health and soft skills.
  • Must have experience in working with the community, especially girls and youths
  • Must have experience in conducting and facilitating workshop topics.
  • Must have experience with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, access and emails
  • Must have good English speaking and writing skills for: reports and documentation, workshop planning
  • Previous experience working for non-government organizations (NGOs) a plus but not essential
  • Experience in working as social work or counseling support a plus but not essential
  • Must be motivated, work with initiative and as part of a team
  • Must have a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations and concepts
  • Able to work flexible hours on a full-time basis Mondays to Fridays with the possibility of working Saturday or Sunday.
