Our Teaching Assistants are expected to take a full, proactive role in the founding teaching team and to deliver an outstanding education for the Early Years & primary aged children.

The below job description is not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all elements of this multifaceted role, but to lay out the key responsibilities of our Teaching Assistants.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support for Pupils
  • To support pupils’ development and promote independence in a safe, secure, challenging and enabling environment.
  • To proactively learn about the Early Years and primary curricula, including utilisation of the Birth to 5 Matters, Development Matters and national curriculum for England documentation.
  • To support the learning of all of the individual children in our Early Years & primary setting using the ‘in the moment planning’ approach.
  • To act as a role model, setting high expectations for kindness, behaviour, resilience and integrity.
  • To encourage pupils to interact positively, be respectful, and work cooperatively with others.
  • To observe, record and support the development and progress of pupils.
  • To make genuine bonds with all pupils and identify their individual needs and difficulties.

  • To assist pupils with their personal hygiene needs as required, with a focus on fostering their independence.

  • To liaise with other teaching professionals to ensure an excellent learning environment is achieved and maintained.
  • To effectively communicate observations of the children to other staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • To listen, support and discuss issues sensitively with parents and carers and to participate in feedback sessions and meetings with parents.
  • To monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievements, and contribute to children’s written Focus Week reports.
  • To provide objective and accurate feedback and reports, as required by the teachers, on pupil achievement progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence.
  • To provide general and clerical support to your class teachers and the team, such as creating resources, setting up activities, photocopying and filing, and receiving and passing money to the school office.

The School Nurse provides comprehensive health services to pupils and staff, promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of the school community.This includes providing first aid and emergency care, managing pupil health records, implementing health promotion programs, and liaising with parents and external healthcare providers.The School Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for all.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provision of First Aid and Emergency Care: Administers first aid and emergency treatment to pupils and staff, including managing acute illnesses and injuries. Makes appropriate referrals to external medical services when necessary.
  • Supports Healthy Diet for Pupils and supports preparation of snacks on a daily basis.
  • Monitors Air Quality and communicates as per school policy.
  • Pupil Health Management: Maintains accurate and confidential health records for all pupils, including allergies, medical conditions, and immunisation status. Develops and implements individual health care plans for pupils with specific needs. Administers prescribed medications according to school policy and parental consent.
  • Health Promotion: Develops and implements health education programmes for pupils and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, mental health, and disease prevention. Promotes a healthy lifestyle within the school community.

The School Registrar & Parent Liaison plays a crucial role in fostering strong and positive relationships between the school and our existing parents. This role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills to effectively engage parents, build trust, and enhance the overall school community experience. The successful candidate will also manage the student records system.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Parent Communication:
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep parents informed about school events, policies, and student progress.
  • Manage various communication channels, including newsletters, emails, website updates, social media, and school apps.
  • Organise and facilitate parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and information sessions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to parent enquiries and concerns, ensuring they are addressed and resolved by liaising with the relevant parties.
  • Provide interpretation assistance during parent orientations, parent-teacher meetings, and other relevant activities as needed.
