Food Innovation Coordinator
Reports to: Trade, Investment and Agri-food Innovation Lead

Position Summary
The Australian Government, through the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), have partnered with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and Khmer Enterprise (KE), to work on a project called the Food Innovation Fund. The fund aims to provide technical and financial support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the food sector through product development assistance, market development, and food safety standards application. The fund will work with public industry academia platforms such as the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), the National University of Battambang (NUBB), the Kampong Speu Institute of Technology (KSIT), food safety certification bodies and other service providers on market development.
- The ability to identify and solve problems that arise during the implementation of the Food Innovation Fund.
- The ability to work effectively with CAPRED and other partners to ensure implementation of activities with Food Innovation Fund are delivered to a high standard in a timely manner to the market.
- Work closely with Institute of Technology of Cambodia to coordinate with other universities namely Royal University of Agriculture, Kampong Speu Institution of Technology and National University of Battambang to provide product development service to agri-food SMEs.
- Support CAPRED and KE team to facilitate and monitor the progress of product development with the four universities including collection and compilation of activities reports into consolidated progress reports for CAPRED.
- Organise regular meetings with the four universities and other service providers to update on the progress, note any improvements and for other events.
- Support the coordination of SMEs with funds requests from the Food Innovation Fund for food safety compliance and market development activities.
- Support CAPRED M&E team to conduct baseline and endline data collection with selected SMEs and produce reports for baseline and endline.
- Support CAPRED team to implement GEDSI and Climate Resilient Activities into Food Innovation Fund initiatives.
- Other works related to Food Innovation Fund assigned by CAPRED team.
- Ensure stakeholders will operate within Cowater and DFAT-related codes of conduct and policies including all inclusion-related policies such as Child Protection and PSEAH; antifraud and corruption; value for money and other policies.
- Maintain good relationships with partners and join in various events including meetings, workshops, and other networking events to build relationship and to visualise CAPRED’s visibility.
- Essential
- At least three-year working experiences with SMEs, and research and development in the food industrial sector.
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree is a plus) in Food Science, Technology, and Food Engineering, Biology, Agricultural Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in the food industry, with a focus on food innovation or development, market development or food safety standards.
- Proven experience in coordinating workshops, meetings and forums.
- Have strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and report writing.
