 Program Overview:

CHAI first partnered with the Government of Cambodia in 2005 to enable the country to access affordable drug and lab commodity prices through CHAI's Procurement Consortium. CHAI provides technical and management assistance to the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STD (NCHADS), the National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control (CNM), Provincial Health Departments and District Health Departments (ODs), the National Maternal and Child Health Center (NMCHC), and the National Center for Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control (CENAT).

Position Overview:

CHAI is currently implementing the Sexual Reproductive Health program in Phnom Penh and other provinces. The team will travel frequently to these target areas to provide a support to the field staff and oversee the delivery of CHAI support to Provincial Health Departments, Operational District Health Offices and Heath Centers. The Driver will be based in Phnom Penh and will be responsible to drive the official vehicle for the regular travel of the CHAI team as needed to different provinces. The Driver will also assist in administrative and logistics tasks for the SRH team. The Driver will report to HR and Admin Manager, (or other supervisor as CHAI may designate


  • Driving
  • Drive vehicle for official travel and business or as requested by CHAI staff as required,
  • Maintain high standard of service to both internal and external guests,
  • Ensure punctuality and safe transport is provided,
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe routes,
  • Follow all CHAI Security and Safety Procedures and security alert,
  • Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the vehicle including Traffic and Parking regulations,
  • Maintain vehicle logbook, accounting for all mileage and fuel consumption/costs, to minimize costs,
  • Keep vehicle clean, and perform minor maintenance,
  • Coordinate schedule for vehicle servicing and maintenance with management and staff to minimize disruption to CHAI staff,
  • Make sure all official documents of vehicle are properly maintained and update (e.g. insurance, registration documents, inspection etc.),
  • Responds to accidents and medical emergencies by notifying to insurance providers and reporting to the Security Point Person in Cambodia;
  • Administrative & Logistic
  • Assist in mail deliveries or, both incoming and outgoing
  • Support the program and the office administration team in hotel/venue booking for project-related activities, purchase and/or pick up of items/materials, repairs etc;
  • Perform such other duties as required by supervisor,


  • Qalifications
  • Holding a Cambodian national driving license of a four-wheel drive
  • Knowledge of car maintenance
  • Previous experience working in a similar role
  • Punctual, committed and flexible with the travel schedules of the team
  • Able to use google maps for navigation
  • Ability to communicate in basic English
  • Advantages
  • Good knowledge of road conditions in Cambodia; driving experience in Phnom Penh, other provinces in Cambodia is a plus
