Announcement Description

Save Cambodia’s Wildlife (SCW) is a leading national NGO working to protect, conservation natural resources, and wildlife habitats throughout Cambodia. SCW focuses on education, using book publications, teaching programs, and awareness campaigns to empower all society levels. Natural Resource Management, Climate Change, Environmental Education and Alternative Livelihoods form the primary basis of their work.

In collaboration with our partner Bread for the World (BftW) and under financial support from Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and SCW is undertaking a project titled: “Improved livelihoods of rural farmers through (1) youth as actors for change and (2) climate change resilience”.

The project's overall goal is to achieve food security and food sovereignty for people in rural areas in the North-East of Cambodia and it is a 3-year period between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2022.

Based on needs assessment during 2020 annual workshop, majority of our staff members related to this project require capacity building on the following topics:

  • Project Cycle Management;
  • Practical Questionnaire Design and Basic Analytical Skills;
  • Effective Project Communication (Report Writing, Minute of Meeting and Case Study development) and coaching sessions;
  • Fund Raising and Effective Project Proposal Writing and coaching sessions;
  • Tine Management, Creative and Critical Thinking;
  • Personal Growth through Personal Leadership;
  • Emotional Intelligence Skills; and
  • SCW requires inputs to prepare strategic preparation for the next strategic period 2022 to 2027

As the project support staff capacity development, SCW takes this opportunity to use the project fund effectively and efficiently to look for experienced training firm or freelance constants to provide capacity building development to both field and senior staff based in Phnom Penh, Kratie, Stung Treng and Rattanakiri.

SCOPE OF WORK

Midterm Review (Training planned for 21-25 June 2021)

  • Provide a four-day training on Project Cycle Management with detailed focus on Planning, Monitoring, Reporting and Evaluation to 15 staff members in one location to be selected by SCW

Annual Workshop (training planned December 2021):

  • Provide a four day practical training session on Effective Project Communication (Report Writing, Minute of Meeting and Case Study Development and coaching sessions to about 15 staff members in one location and then provide coaching support to staff each duty station.

Small Group Separate Training in four different places: (June to December 2021)

  • Introduce basic concept of strategic formation to 15 project staff and lead participatory sessions involving SCW staff at each duty station including SCW stakeholders at target areas to provide inputs for SCW management.
  • Provide to small groups of SCW staff a one full day training session respectively to Phnom Penh, Kratie, Stung Treng and Rattanakiri.

Collecting Input from all staff for SCW Strategic Preparation (June to December 2021):

  • Introduce basic concept of strategic formation to 15 project staff and lead participatory sessions involving SCW staff at each duty station including SCW stakeholders at target areas to provide inputs for SCW management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in providing capacity building sessions to NGO staff
  • Experience in coordinating qualified trainers for short course training
  • Local trainer(s) with academic background in business administration, rural development or related fields;
  • Proven good language command in Khmer and English, oral and written;
  • Interested consultant(s) or firm(s) should submit a statement, describing the appropriate methodologies to plan and carry out the sourcing and implementation of the above assignment in an environmentally friendly, ethically correct as well as effective and efficient manner.

  • Workers compensation, liability and other requisite insurance is entirely the responsibility of the contractor.
  • A team of SCW will be in the field to support and guide the visited target areas. If necessary, and previously agreed among SCW and contractor, some translation/interpretation can be provided by the employer.
  • The consultant is responsible for deducting tax in accordance with the Cambodian law.

  • Quotations will be assessed on a competitive basis by a committee, and the one with the best quality versus overall costs will be selected.
  • The selected bidder will be 14th June 2021, in order to co-ordinate work plans and plan the assignment in a timely manner.
  • Interviews: SCW reserves itself the right of interviewing the candidate experts as part of the evaluation of offers received.
