Account Officer

Reporting to: Sr.Account Lead Officer

Probationary Period: Three Months

Account Officer (AO) is a key member of the finance and accounting team who will provide direct leadership and accounts management of the hospital. This role is responsible for the accounting and finance team operations and reporting to Senior Accounting Officer and has the authority to monitor and provide quality analysis of accounting and finance team. The Account Officer will be directly responsible for leading and managing the accounting daily operations and will work to ensure a motivated accounting/finance culture which upholds the hospital’s core value services.

Duties
  • Provides assistance to management in preparing company financial plans and budgeting
  • Perform Coach and train accounting team regarding Cashier/Receptionist role, accounting and finance procedure, government rules and regulations,
  • To assist to prepare monthly report which assigned by Sr. Accounting/Finance Manager,
  • To do spot check the expenditure by quarterly and report to SAO for irregular payments,
  • Ensure that supporting document of expenditure and income are complete as Orchid requirements,
  • Alternative do physical stock count, fixed asset, and program inventory against with report
  • To assist preparing documents for Auditor as required
  • Review account payable and making payment to supplier by cheque, arrange bank transfer, and issue cheque for approval,
  • Maintain bank reconcile the cash book and financial transactions,
  • Monthly prepare commissioned doctors,
  • Daily enter in accounting software of purchase transactions and other related transactions,
  • Daily enter invoice and receipt into accounting software,
  • Observing the physical balance of the AR on the field,
  • Prepare daily AR report, monthly sale report, debtor report, customer deposit report, age AR report and contract list,
  • Other tasks related to accounting and finance, and as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or degree accounting, tax, or finance
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience in working with multi-team environment, medical sector is highly desired
  • Highly committed with strong ethical accounting/financial practice
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Computer literate and hands on experience with Accounting Systems
  • Experience including reporting, accounting, or related experience with expose to private sector is a plus,
  • Proven experience of increasing cost effectiveness, compliance and improved internal controls,
  • Effective communicator, fluent in written and spoken English,
  • Sound computer skills including MS Office suite of programs,
  • Highly analytical and strategic with excellent foresight and problem-solving skills,
  • Ability to work at both a strategic and detailed level – hands on when needed
  • Attitude / Motivation:
