Kambujaya is a newly established boutique lifestyle and property development firm aspiring to build design oriented and unique living spaces for the Cambodian market. The company was created to meet the growing demands of the Cambodian middle class who are seeking natural greenery, higher quality, and well-designed living solutions. 

Kambujaya is led by a young and dynamic team of Khmers who are taking a unique and boutique approach to real estate development. The start-up company is currently developing a small residential linkhouse project in eastern Phnom Penh with a target completion scheduled for Q2 2022. 

Announcement Positions

MEP SITE ENGINEER (1 Position)

Kambujaya is currently recruiting a junior MEP Site Engineer with at least 1-2 years work experience—ideally with prior experience in project management and construction. An Electrical Engineering background would be prioritized. 

As a MEP Site Engineer, this person would be responsible for assisting the KBJ site team with day-to-day project management activities including the monitoring of the quality and progress of MEP sub-contractors. 

We are a start-up company-- so we’re looking for the right person to grow and learn with us. 

Duties
  • Assist the site team with the execution of all technical works and project management. 
  • Review daily progress with MEP work to ensure sub-contractor's work is in compliance with design drawing specifications/standards. 
  • Assist in the preparation of inspection forms, weekly reports, and progress evaluation claims. 
  • Assist in the procurement and delivery processing of MEP materials/equipment. 
  • Help in the examination of other technical works and site management as needed. 
  • Other tasks as assigned by Project Manager and Site Supervisor. 
Requirements
  • Khmer National 
  • Fluent in English AND Khmer (written and spoken) 
  • 4-Year education at an accredited institution – Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.  
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience – Ideally, this person should have prior experience working in a project management or construction company. 
  • Independent and able to work under minimal supervision 
  • Flexible, honest, and hard-working
  • Reliable and well organized—The team needs to be able to trust and depend on you 
  • Team oriented and open minded
  • Currently or willing to be based in Phnom Penh 
 

ACCOUNTANT (1 Position)

Kambujaya is currently recruiting a mid-level Accountant with at least 2 years work experience—ideally within the real estate development and construction industries.  

As an Accountant, this person will be responsible for the daily accounting management of the startup company. The position will report directly to the Managing Director. 

The Accountant will be primarily focused on booking entries into Quickbooks, assisting with procurement, processing payments, preparing monthly reports, and filing any tax declarations. They will also be asked to support the rest of the team with other miscellaneous admin/financial related tasks as needed. 

We are a start-up company-- so we’re looking for the right person to grow and learn with us. 

Duties
  • Oversee all accounting activities of small real estate development company (sales, costs, cash management, P&L reporting, etc.). 
  • Oversee, analyze, and manage all accounting functions (A/R, A/P, G/L, fixed assets, cash collections/deposits, monthly closing, taxation, and others). 
  • Administrate frequent financial reports –ensure proper recording of weekly accounting entries and reconciliation of any variances. 
  • Assist with procurement and monitoring of inventory control 
  • Liaise with other individuals from the construction team, sales/marketing, and external third parties 
Requirements
  • Khmer National 
  • Fluent in English AND Khmer (written and spoken) 
  • 4-Year education at an accredited institution – Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Auditing or related field.  
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience – Proven knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting standards, laws & regulation. Ideally, this person should have prior experience working in a real estate development company or construction company 
  • Independent and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Flexible, honest, and hard-working
  • Reliable and well organized
  • Team oriented and open minded
  • Currently or willing to be based in Phnom Penh
