CIRD (Cambodian Institute for Research and Rural Development is a NGO having mission to fighting poverty, to improve the livelihoods of rural communities through capacity building, service and organizational management support enabling rural livelihood systems to improve its position from a subsistence system to an income generating agro-food production and agricultural social enterprises. CIRD works directly with farmer organizations and local communities to provide technical and managerial capacity building and appropriate agricultural technical know-how to ensure that farmer can improve their lives and livelihoods in self-determination. CIRD is now seeking to recruit staffs with different positions as the following:

Announcement Positions

Project Coordinator /Livestock Specialist (1 Position)

Schedule

Full time position, project duration of 3 years (renewable annual contract)

Expected Starting date: 16 January 2021

Duties
  • Under the direct supervision of CIRD Director, the Project Coordinator /Livestock Specialist’s main tasks are:
  • Day to day project team coordination and management of Livestock Development project implemented by CIRD in Kampong Chhnang; Pursat Battambang, Siem Reap and Kampong Thom;
  • To prepare project planning, support the project team in implementing and monitoring all project activities;
  • To provide ToT and coaching support to project field officers (9) on animal health and production techniques and in farm business management
  • To produce project progress reports based on the activities reported by the 2 provincial team leaders;
  • To provide both technical and managerial support to the 2 provincial team leaders
  • To act as CIRD’s focal person in liaison with project partner (particularly PIN).
Requirements
  • BSc. degree (or higher) in Animal Health and Production
  • Good background on farmer organisation and livestock value chain;
  • Over 5-year work experiences in development projects support to poultry production and commercialisation;
  • Over 4-year work experiences in organising and conducting trainings, knowledge sharing workshops and meeting facilitation skills;
  • Strong commitment to work in the field, to meet the deadline and to achieve the expected results;
  • Good in communication, information/data collection and processing, and in writing report
  • Good communication skill and computer literacy;
  • Teamwork spirit;
  • Acceptable level of English proficiency
 

Provincial Team Leaders (PTL)/Agriculture Specialist (2 Positions)

Expected Starting date: 16 January 2021

Duties
  • Under the direct supervision of Project Coordinator, the Provincial Team Leaders/Agriculture Specialist’s main tasks are:
  • To be in charge of direct supervising and supporting to project field officers (FO); each PTL will be in charge of 4 to 6 field officers in the provinces under his/her responsibility;
  • To provide ToT and coaching support to project field officers on animal health and production techniques and in farm business management
  • Assist FO in providing ToT and coaching support to Farmer Trainers/CBWE in the target provinces under the responsibility of each PTL;
  • He/She will assist FO in providing on-the-job training and coaching to all FT/CBEW, PG and AC;
  • Assist PC in preparing project planning, supporting the project team in implementing and monitoring all project activities;
  • To produce monthly reports on project activities implemented in his/her target provinces and send the report to PC.
Requirements
  • BSc. degree (or higher) in Agricultural Science, preferably with specialisation in Animal Health and Production
  • Good background on farmer organisation and agricultural value chain;
  • Over 3-year work experiences in development projects support to poultry production and commercialisation;

Duties
  • Under the direct supervision of Provincial Team Leaders; FO’s main tasks are:
  • To provide direct assistant and support to Farmer Trainers (FT)/CBWE and other project target group, particularly producer groups and AC;
  • To be in charge of providing customized training on small scale animal production and health to FT/CBEW, producer groups and AC;
  • To conduct on-going monitoring and provide on-farm coaching to the project target group under the responsibilities of each FO;
  • Assist PTL in preparing project planning, monitoring
  • To produce monthly reports on project activities implemented in his/her target areas and send the report to PTL.
Requirements
  • Associate degree (or higher) in Agricultural Science, preferably with specialisation in Animal Health and Production
  • Good background on farmer organisation and agricultural value chain;
  • Over 2-year work experiences in development projects support agricultural production and commercialisation;
  • Over 2-year work experiences in organising and conducting trainings to farmers;
  • Strong commitment to work in the field, to meet the deadline and to achieve the expected results;
  • Good in communication, information/data

Junior Agronomist (1 Position)

Duties
  • Under the direct supervision of Provincial Coordinator, the Junior Agronomist’s main tasks are:
  • Participate in developing the road maps and M&E sheets on activities related to the promotion of agro-ecology and agriculture value-chains of the project target group;
  • Develop monthly activity plans and budget for each intervention
  • Assist provincial coordinator in identifying, selecting and building the capacity project target group and value chain to support;
  • Strengthen the capacity and assist project target groups in agricultural production and agri-business management ;
  • Document and report on project intervention with the target group \
  • Attend and contribute to project monthly and coordination meetings and other meetings concerned with project implementation in Kandal province
  • Participate and contribute with project staffs to organize workshops, capitalization of project experience, visibility and other activities
Requirements
