We are seeking a Lead Teacher for an English Intensive Two-Year Program for 30 high school students from Tuk Meas and Ang Sophy High School in Banteay Meas commune near Kep and Kampot. Our US 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Doris Dillon School in Cambodia (EIN 47-1509301), has been awarded a U.S. State Department grant to administer this program. You will work with a Teaching Assistant to administer this program.
Location: Banteay Meas commune, Kampot province.
Two class sessions (15 students in each session). Class 1: MWF 4:30-6:30pm. Class 2: Tues.Thurs.Sat. 4:30-6pm. Classes will commence at least two weeks after Tuk Meas and Ang Sophy High School begin regular 10th-12th grade sessions this year. Classes will end in March 2022.
Duties:
Assist in developing and supervising a multi-day Intensive Session cultural excursion to Phnom Penh area
Assist in developing and overseeing a one-day educational Enhancement Activity Field Trip to Kep and Kampot area
Plan and supervise Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the program
Create and implement lesson plans using suggested and teacher-provided material to educate students on various aspects of American history and culture
Research, create, and Implement periodic testing to assess each student's progress in English language fluency
Create lesson plans using provided texts to improve English language fluency to significantly expand high school students' educational and career opportunities
Use proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, or equivalent, grading software (e.g. Gradebook) and online resources (e.g. educational videos) for presentations and documentation
Collaborate and coordinate classroom activities with Teaching Assistant to maximize students’ acquisition of English language fluency.
