with Heifer International
Heifer International is a global non-profit organization working to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth by engaging smallholder farmers in agricultural value chain and market system development. For over 80 years, Heifer International has invested in smallholder farmers and benefited 20.7 million households – more than 105 million people around the world, supporting them to build social capital, use appropriate technologies, generate income, and achieve sustainable livelihoods.
Heifer International has had a presence in Cambodia since 1999. Our vision is to support farmers in leading their own transformation and being empowered to build sustainable futures through localized leadership and innovation. We are working alongside farmers to enhance their capacity to raise more, sell more, and earn more across chicken, vegetable, fruit, and fish value chains. We connect farmers with women-led self-help groups, agricultural cooperatives, and Social Entrepreneurs Union of Agricultural Cooperative (SEUAC) to join forces in promoting agricultural production, facilitating market access and stabilizing prices for agricultural products.
Our program is strengthening food security and food safety, building agricultural skills and investment, and integrating micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) into an inclusive agricultural market system and value chains, while strengthening sustainable community development networks.
