Main Missions

The career guidance counsellor is responsible for informing and guiding the student in her academic and career choices. S/he therefore organizes interviews with the students to identify her motivations, desires and plans. S/he offers a support for the students, whether there are at the secondary school or high school, when uncertain in their future plans. S/he is also responsible for taking preventative measures to limit school failure and may, in particular, conduct information sessions on orientation, and take students to fairs and forums, visit companies...

In other words, the career guidance counsellor helps students to have a clearer idea about their academic and professional future, helping them find their way.

Department: OSM «Opening Students’ Mind or Ouverture Sur Le Monde»

• 40 hours, 5 days per week
• From Monday to Friday (Work on Saturday if required)

Program Description

The “Opening Students’ Mind” program, internally called OSM (OSM stands for Ouverture sur le Monde) is aimed at students from level 1 to level 12. This program is particularly important for the school and for the students as Happy Chandara School strictly follows the curriculum dictated by the Ministry of Education youth and Sport.

OSM curriculum has been developed by the OSM department which aims to develop students’ competence of becoming global citizens. Our main objectives are:

• to enrich the 21st century skills including soft and hard skills known as students’ curiosity, confidence, leadership skills, critical thinking, mind-sets and values.
• to strengthen global knowledge, and the knowledge of digital technology and STEM.
• to boost and utilise advanced English through research and presentation on the learning contents.

The program (about 5 hours per week), which is being currently reviewed, integrates computer, library and audiovisual. It uses a « task-based and project-based learning » approach and aims to have a strong link to the reality of Cambodian society. It deals with themes such as international politics, women’s situation, environmental protection, health, cultures, human beings, values, entrepreneurship and Cambodia’s development.

Missions

• To deliver OSM/AV classes as part of the "Opening Students’ Mind" program and supervise the library.
• To provide our students with a better understanding of the world around them and their place within it,
• To compliment the school's core curriculum and encourage students' curiosity.
• To play a role in nurturing that curiosity, values, solidarity, open mindedness, guiding our students to the Library and AV resources available to them, and encouraging them to become autonomous learners.

Department: Sport and Extra-Curricular Activity Department (SECA)

Location: Happy Chandara Secondary School – Prek Thmey

Type of contract: Unlimited duration contract (UDC)

Reporting line: SECA Deputy Manager/ SECA Manager

Working hours: 40 hours/week from Monday to Saturday, Occasionally in weekend

Main missions

• Implement and develop new extra-curricular activities taking in account the ages, needs and capacities of the students
• Insure the continuity of our existing SECA strategy
• Promote and develop students’ health and physical competence effectively with quality
• Foster all roundedness of students through excursions and numerous activities held inside and outside school
• Participate actively on the preparation and animation of the School trips, outings, week end activities and Summer Camp of the SECA
• Provide guidance and supervision to the SECA Assistant/ Volunteers
• Support the responsibilities of the team, especially the SECA Deputy Manager & SECA Manager

• To ensure that the students fully access to higher education
• S/he will be in permanent contact with families, community and social services

The Accountant will manage and oversee all accounting transactions and provide management with accurate quantitative and qualitative information on financial position.

Line Manager Chinese Coordinator

Missions

The Chinese teacher is teaching, developing and promoting the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude. S/he creates daily lesson plans, conducts classroom discussions, administer and grade tests, assign and review homework, and complete individual student assessments.
