Globe Media Asia is a regional media company based in Phnom Penh, the fascinating and vibrant capital of

Cambodia, since 2007. The company today has three main pillars:

  1. Brains Communication: a marketing and communications agency with 7 employees, established in 2011. Brains provides brand development, social media, PR consultancy and events services to a range of local and international clients from private and institutional sectors.
  2. Media: Southeast Asia Globe and Focus - Ready for Tomorrow, produce world-class journalism and multimedia products for global and local Cambodian audiences.
  3. Multimedia production: our video production team and content producers work for a range of institutional and commercial clients on multiple projects in English and Khmer. We also produce custom publications for clients, and specialist magazines such as Discover - The Essence of Cambodia, or Focus Cambodia, a business publication.

At Brains Communications, we are looking for a Director to oversee our day-to-day operations and projects across our portfolio, accounts and clients. The director reports directly to the CEO.

As an experienced marketing and communications professional with a good understanding of the Cambodian marketplace, you work closely with our management team on evolving our business strategy while managing an efficient and motivated team of creatives and client service experts throughout our group. You will work on multiple projects from existing clients and acquire new ones - while always ensuring top quality services and project management delivery.

As director, you will represent both Brains Communication and Globe Media Asia at events and other professional activities. You will be responsible for further developing the agency’s brand and reputation, while helping to identify synergies and create processes, so that the different businesses within the Globe Media Asia group can work together efficiently and effectively.

Duties
  • Strategy & implementation:
  • Coordinate internal projects and oversee the development and implementation of social media initiatives
  • Work on group-wide initiatives and internal partnerships and manage internal and external projects as requested by the management
  • Create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts customers to our products and services
  • Develop marketing strategies for new products and services that comply with current company standards
  • Work with Senior Management across the group to develop and implement strategies that will further the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Business development
  • Market analysis:
  • Monitor local and international market competitors & stay current with similar services on the market
  • Work with the upper management to develop successful strategies and campaigns to keep the agency’s products and services relevant to clients
  • Develop new products and services
  • Client proposals
  • Generate, source and close new business leads and opportunities
  • Write efficient proposals and pitches
  • Answer tenders and RFPs that may lead to new business.
  • Operation management
  • Coordinate internal operations and workflows
  • Oversee and support project teams and their coordination
  • Ensure projects are executed and managed following highest standards and timelines, deadlines and client expectations are met
  • Ensure internal files systems are kept up-to-date
  • Collaborate with other executives to make high-level decisions regarding the budget and the direction of the company.

  • Support the personal and professional development of the team
  • Conduct performance reviews.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing/communication
  • More than 6 years experience as part of a corporate marketing team
  • 3 or more years in a supervisory and/or management capacity, agency experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of online and offline marketing , particularly in Cambodia or Southeast Asia is a plus
  • Event planning and management experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication in reading and writing in English
  • Khmer language skills are a plus.
  • Skills and experience:
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire others to do great work
  • Confident in presenting the agency, its work and how it meets a brand’s needs
  • Ability to sensitively manage multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to grasp and explain complex ideas and concepts
  • Financially adept, and able to keep control of agency expenditure
  • Attention to detail.
