About Marie Stopes International Cambodia
Since 1998, Marie Stopes International Cambodia (MSIC) has established itself as one of the leading and most trusted providers of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, specializing in safe abortion and contraception. MSIC has a network of 7 clinics located in Chbar Ampov, Sen Sok, Takhmao, Battambang, Siem Reap, Svay Rieng and Kampong Thom. To bridge the gap of access for people in provinces without MSIC clinics, MSIC works with 150 community-based midwives called Marie Stopes Ladies to provide contraception and safe abortion services to women and girls in their communities. In addition to these service delivery approaches, MSIC also engages in activities to ensure women have the information they need to make the choices right for them. MSIC operates a Contact Centre which provides SRH information, counselling and referrals for services via phone, email and social media. MSIC communication activities focus on addressing harmful norms and dismantling taboos which are a barrier to service access. MSIC is a long-term partner of the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion in MSIC
Diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of MSIC’s mission to deliver SRH services, including contraception and safe abortion to everyone, making sure that no one is left behind. We want all people to feel supported and welcomed when accessing a MSIC SRH facility.
MSIC is committed to an intersectional approach to diversity and inclusion, understanding that different social categories impact on an individual’s ability to realise their potential. In addition to recognising the impact an individual’s gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity and religion may have on their ability to access SRH services, MSIC also acknowledges the importance of understanding a client’s economic and social status.
