Southeast Asia Companion Animals Campaigns Consultant

Location: Remote Working

Consulting fees minimum 40 dollars per day, dependent on experience.

Schedule: Consultancy – 30-40 hours per week

Rate: Applicant to provide desired hourly and daily (8-hour) rates with application. The selected consultant will be recompensed based on a daily basis, with travel expenses reimbursed where applicable. Consultants will be expected to work the equivalent of 4-5 days per week.

Duties
  • Supporting the strategic development and implementation of campaigns in Southeast Asia including working on FOUR PAWS‘ campaign to end the dog and cat meat trade in the region.
  • Support in project management and coordination of activities to achieve the campaign outcomes working as part of an international team
  • Day-to-day administration of campaigns, including campaign reporting, preparing presentations, coordinating meetings, document management, and other campaigns associated tasks
  • In conjunction with the Head of SEA Companion Animals (CA) Campaigns, implementation of other CA campaigns in the region, including assistance with mobilisation, advocacy and networking
  • Briefing and working with local media agencies to ensure that the communication/ mobilisation strategies are in place to support the campaign objectives, including design and delivery of campaign assets (online/offline) and social media posting and management.
  • With the Ending the Dog and Cat Meat Trade (DCMT) in Southeast Asia Team, work on development of DCMT reporting tool, reviewing and following up reports, and creating output reports for uses in campaigns, political engagement and fundraising
  • Write, edit, translate, and proofread copy for campaign promotional materials and reports
  • Support on administrative duties for FOUR PAWS registration and Memoranda of Understanding with government entities
  • Contribute to investigation and research projects into specific animal welfare issues as needed.
  • Support the tracking, measurement, evaluation, and reporting on campaign KPIs and key milestones
  • Keep abreast of current trends in both companion animal welfare and international campaigning
  • Ad hoc support for other projects as and when necessary
Requirements
  • Your profile ideally illustrates
  • Minimum of 3 years-experience of working on public campaigns in South-East Asia, particularly public mobilization
  • A Bachelors’ degree, ideally in Campaign Management, Communications, Political Science, or animal science
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English and Khmer is essential
  • A passion for improving animal welfare
  • Good project management and organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Experience and/or knowledge of advocacy with government stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience of social media copy writing and management
  • Excellent skills in standard Microsoft Office Applications
  • Willingness to travel and to work as part of an international team
