The project is implemented between General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and JICA for strengthening the production and the commercialization of rice seed in Cambodia.

The project carries out capacity building in quality rice seed production, rice seed inspection, and certification. It also provides improved postharvest facilities and equipment for seed producer groups. It also facilitates the establishment of a platform of rice-seed-related stakeholders. How long has the project been? From October 2017 to November 2022.

We are looking for qualified candidate to fill for the position below.

Position Summary

Name of organization : Project for Rice Seed Production and Promotion (RSPP).

Place to work : Current location with occasional duty travels to Battambang, Prey Veng, Takeo and Kampong Chhnaang.

Wage and other benefit : The salary will be negotiated by the employer and the employee.

The schedule of the position

The employee works three months as a trial employment period (no work on weekends and public holidays). After the period, the employee works full time from April 2020 to October 2022 only if the employer requested a continuation of the employment. The salary will be negotiated by the employer and the employee.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accompany with the experts of the project during meetings, field visits, interviews, workshops and forums, and serve as the consecutive interpreter between English and Khmer.
  • Translate materials written in English into Khmer and those written in Khmer into English as requested by the experts of the project.
  • Carry out logistical coordination with Khmer speaking actors for project activities.
  • The task includes appointment making and other necessary negotiations by telephone with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English (the experience as professional interpreter is preferred, although it is not a prerequisite).
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture related fields.
  • Minimum three years work experience related to agriculture (the work experience at an NGO is preferred).
