What if you could raise awareness and funding through a gamified global donation system?

Fauna is a not-for-profit organisation launching the world’s first NFT collection focused on supporting conservation efforts. Fauna is creating a product whereby users can collect NFTs of their favourite species, and by doing so, contribute to their survival.

Founded and launched in Cambodia, Fauna was recently selected as the winner of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) "NFTs for Development in Asia" competition, beating 200 applicants, and 99 teams from Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong.

The Fauna team now has ambitious plans to scale and launch our first collection by Q1 2022, requiring work from the graphic illustrator starting in December 2021.

To do this, we are looking for inspired & talented graphic illustrators, able to create beautiful graphic designs in 2D and 3D.

Fauna is looking to hire a full-time graphic illustrator for an initial contract of 3 months, with the strong possibility of extension pending a successful probation period. Ideally, the candidate is based in Phnom Penh.

We will pay a competitive salary to someone who can embark on this journey with us. Our preference is for a local artist, though international artists are also encouraged to apply.

Duties
  • Put forward ideas, and advise the leadership team on creative matters
  • Prepare rough drafts according to requirements
  • Combine hand-drawing and painting with digital media to create complete illustrations in 2D and 3D
  • Refine designs with illustration software
  • Use various colors, graphics and effects to better visualize each concept
  • Format images using computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Apply isometric techniques to add perspective to complex shapes
  • Participate in design briefs with clients, editors and/or marketers to identify their needs
  • Define time and budget limitations
  • Ensure that printed illustrations meet quality and color standards
  • Brainstorm with the design team to come up with new ideas, patterns, and styles
  • Stay up to date with new design techniques and software
Requirements
  • Good English language skills
  • Proven university or professional experience as an Illustrator, Graphic Designer or similar role
  • Demonstrable portfolio of completed illustrations
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Solid knowledge of image editing and digital sketching software, like Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Illustrator
  • Drawing skills with an attention to detail (both by hand and digital pen)
  • Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills
  • Ability to collaborate and meet deadlines
  • BSc degree in Design, Visual Arts, or relevant qualification (optional, not required)
