Angkor Hospital for children (AHC) is a non-profit organization providing free medical care to children in Siem Reap. AHC is looking for highly motivated individuals who can fulfill the currently vacant position below. The successful applicant will be a person who is a highly motivated to learn and further develop their skills working for a NGO non-profit hospital.

Nurse (35 Positions)

Job Location : Angkor Hospital for Children

Duties
  • Deliver nursing care according to the nursing process.
  • Maintain all of a child’s written nursing notes using the guidelines in the AHC Pediatric Nursing Standards Manual.
  • Identify when a child is becoming severely ill. Inform the team leader and take appropriate action.
  • Think of the child as part of a family and involve the family in the care of their child. Inform them of all the treatments their child is receiving and ensure that they understand and give consent.
  • Recognize the importance of good hygiene for the child and the hospital department.
  • Teach and encourage good personal hygiene to the children and their family.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hospital department and equipment to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Anticipate the needs of the children and the department e.g. informing team leaders about shortages of supplies or preparing a bed space for a new child or a child returning from the Operating Theatre.
  • Offer help to colleagues during times when you are not busy and in emergency situations.
  • Be flexible about moving to other units during times of staff shortage.
Requirements
  • Educational Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working level of English relevant the role of nurse in AHC.
  • Have a good understanding of physiology, anatomy, disease and condition and continue to update an expand nursing knowledge.
  • Recognize where one’s nursing knowledge is weak and seek help to strengthen it.
  • Ask for teaching or explanation whenever necessary in the clinical setting.
  • Determine learning goals following personal nursing evaluation.
  • Take every opportunity to deliver health education to all children and their families.
  • Attend CPR, Infection Control and Nursing Process refresher course once a year.
  • Requirements:
  • Associated Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing certificate from an institution recognized by Ministry of Health and/or Ministry of Education Youths and Sport, Cambodia.
  • Good written and spoken English and Khmer
  • Good communication skills

  • To be able to work in a team environment involving different departments.

Physiotherapist (2 Positions)

General description

AHC commits to provide high quality medical care for the children of Cambodia and to support the families as they raise their children. The AHC Physiotherapist is the primary person responsible to provide physiotherapy service to patients and works closely with medical staff and other departments.

Duties
  • Provide daily physiotherapy service to AHC’ patients
  • Provide instruction to parents about how to do basic physiotherapy exercise with their child at home.
  • Think of the child as part of a family and involve the family in the care of their child. Inform them of all the treatments their child is receiving and ensure that they understand and give consent.
  • Maintain written documentation in the patient’s chart according to the physiotherapy documentation standards (Subject, Object, Therapy, Evaluation and Plan)
  • Ensure that discharge planning and education of the parents are completed on time
  • Identify if a patient is severely ill and act accordingly in any emergency situation and inform Unit Manager or co-worker to help as required.
  • Give the children age appropriate treatment and educationally related toys and play therapies
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the equipment and hospital department to prevent the spread of infection
  • Recognize the importance of good hygiene for the child and the hospital department
  • Anticipate the needs of the children and the department e.g. informing Unit Manager about shortages of supplies (physiotherapy equipment).

Requirements

  • Newly graduated physiotherapists are encouraged to apply as training will be provided.

Purchasing Officer (1 Position)

Report to : Purchasing Manager

General description

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for the coordination of a wide variety of purchasing activities and in particular to search for the highest quality supplies at the lowest possible purchase cost in a timely manner for the hospital. The Purchasing Officer must follow the processes and procedures of procurement of the hospital.

Duties
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of purchase orders in accordance with the hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete up to date purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
  • Coordinate and resolve problems with requester and suppliers if any.
  • Responsible for petty cash purchasing and reimbursement of the petty cash from the Finance Department.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with hospital policies and be transparencies.
  • Report to the Purchasing Manager of any issues related with Procurement Process and/or any disturbances. (e.g: Supplier did not follow contract etc)
  • Manage and monitor the contract commitment under his/her scope of responsibilities and making sure that the relevant are informed in a timely manner.
  • Attend weekly purchasing meeting and report any issues relating to any disturbance in purchasing process, seeking for solution and/or suggestion from the team member and superiors.
  • Inspection of supplies, services and equipment purchased to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Carry out admin on-call duty as scheduled.
  • Undertakes any other task as requested by superiors.
Requirements
  • Qualifications
  • Holder of this position should have the following minimum education requirements:
  • Degree in Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting or general management
  • Carry certificate diploma of nursing would be an advantage.
  • Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient in office Computer skills in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Report writing and minute writing skills.
  • Be able to communicate in English
