Job Summary
The Video Reporter will pitch, report, film, and produce original video stories for CamboJA, focusing on political, social, environmental, and human rights issues. The role involves field reporting, interviewing sources, collecting footage, scripting, and editing stories for web, social media, and other platforms. The Video Reporter will play a vital role in bringing human-centered, impactful stories to audiences and contributing to CamboJA’s growth in multimedia journalism. This role also supervises and coordinates the work of Video Production Assistant to guarantee smooth collaboration between shooting and editing.
- Research, pitch, and produce compelling video news stories on social, political, economic, and human rights issues.
- Conduct interviews, gather footage, and report from the field with accuracy and professionalism.
- Write scripts and develop storylines for video reporting.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and production team members to deliver high-quality content.
- Ensure compliance with journalistic ethics, editorial guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, Communications, Film Production, or related fields, (or equivalent professional experience).
- At least two years of professional experience in video journalism or multimedia reporting, video editing, with strong portfolio evidence.
- Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
- Experience supervising or coordinating video production team
- Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting, and sound to effectively guide video production assistant.
- Excellent storytelling, creativity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage tasks effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in content production.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with clear communication abilities.

Job Summary
The Video Production Assistant will be responsible for filming, editing, and producing high-quality video content for CamboJA’s newsroom and projects. This role requires strong technical skills in camera operation, video editing, and storytelling, with the ability to work collaboratively with reporters, editors, and the communications team to produce engaging and impactful video content for multiple platforms.
- Assist in setting up video shoots, including camera, lighting, and sound equipment.
- Capture video footage and support field production when required.
- Provide support in video editing, graphics, and subtitles.
- Organize, archive, and maintain video files and production equipment
- Work closely with the Video Editor and reporters to ensure timely and quality outputs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, Communications, Film Production, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Proven one year experience in video shooting and editing, preferably in a newsroom, NGO, or media organization.
- Strong skills in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
- Good knowledge of framing, lighting, and audio techniques.
- Ability to manage tasks effectively under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in content production.
