Announcement Description

The HEKS/EPER's Green Cashew Project has been working to empower smallholder cashew farmers to increase income, strengthen climate resilience, and build sustainable, inclusive cashew value chains. The initiatives are implemented and focus on agroecological innovation, supply chain strengthening, and farmer capacity development in Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear provinces.

To capture and communicate project achievements, lessons, and impact, HEKS/EPER seeks a professional video production team to produce two impact videos.

Summary

Objective

To produce two visually engaging, story-driven videos that document the journey, results/impact, and human stories behind Cambodia’s cashew transformation.

Video 1: “Empowering Smallholder Cashew Farmers through Agroecology and Contract Farming”

  • Focus: Agroecological practices such as biocontrol innovations, Pest and Disease control using Bordeaux, farmer capacity, and contract farming/supply chain partnerships.
  • Duration: 4–5 minutes

Video 2: “Building Cambodia’s Organic Cashew Supply Chain”

  • Focus: Organic certification including ICS, farmer income improvement, local processing/local value addition, and market linkages/access.
  • Duration: 4–5 minutes

Scope of Work

The consultant/production firm will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Script Review and Enhancement
  • Review and refine draft scripts (provided in English) in collaboration with HEKS/EPER’s Communication and Project teams.
  • Pre-Production
  • Develop an inception report including storyboard, shot list, infographic concepts, and a detailed filming plan and schedule.
  • Field Production (Filming)
  • Conduct on-site filming in Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear provinces with the specific timeline as mentioned in the delivery table.
  • Capture interviews with:
  • Farmers and cooperative members (ensuring gender balance)
  • Private sector partners (e.g., MIRARTH, Intersnack)
  • Record project activities including training sessions, demonstration plots, pest control practices, contract signings, post-harvest handling, and processing centers.
  • Capture B-roll footage: landscapes, farms, cooperatives, packaging, and processing activities.
  • Post-Production
  • Integrate voice-over narration (Khmer version).
  • Add infographics, pop-up texts, and subtitles (English).
  • Apply professional editing, sound design, background music, and color grading.
  • Ensure inclusion of project and donor logos and closing credits.
  • Submission of Deliverables
  • Provide raw footage, editable project files, and final edited versions.

Eligibility

  • Qualifications of the Consultant/Production Firm
  • Proven track record in documentary/impact storytelling.
  • Demonstrated experience producing videos for NGOs, or development projects.
  • Strong capacity in script visualization, drone videography, motion graphics, and infographic design.
  • Excellent coordination and creative direction.
  • Fluency in Khmer and English preferred.

Submission Requirements

Budget and Payment Terms

Applicants should provide a detailed financial proposal with a clear breakdown of all costs, including:

  • Pre-production and production costs
  • Travel and field logistics
  • Equipment and crew costs
  • Editing, animation, and post-production
  • Voice-over, subtitles, and music licensing

Payment will be made based on satisfactory completion of deliverables as per the approved schedule in the delivery table in part#4.

Supervision and Coordination

The consultant will work under the supervision of the Communication Officer, HEKS/EPER Cambodia, in close coordination with the Green Cashew Project team.

Copyright and Ownership

All raw footage, edited versions, and visual materials produced under this consultancy shall remain the property of HEKS/EPER Cambodia.
