The Vice President of Academic Affairs is crucial in leading and managing the Academic Department. This role involves planning, developing, and ensuring the effective operation of all academic areas. This role encompasses comprehensive oversight of the curriculum, managing academic staff, developing academic activities in alignment with institutional objectives, and ensuring alignment with global educational standards. It demands robust leadership and organizational skills to provide strategic direction and foster an innovative learning environment.

Duties
  • Curriculum Oversight
  • Develop and oversee the entire curriculum, ensuring local and global relevance and excellence.
  • Integrate national and international educational practices and standards.
  • Lead the school in obtaining accreditation from recognized international educational agencies while ensuring adherence to their standards and continual educational excellence.

  • Provide strategic direction for the academic department.

  • Education: Master’s Degree or higher in Education or a related field, with a preference for a doctoral degree.
  • Experience in Academic Leadership: Proven track record in leading academic departments or programs, particularly in an international school setting.
  • Curriculum Development Skills: Expertise in designing and implementing a diverse, globally-relevant curriculum.
  • Leadership and Management Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop academic staff.
  • Strategic Planning and Organizational Skills: Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and organization within an academic context.

Basic functions and Scope of Responsibilities

Department Head assumes the educational leadership and supervision for the assigned department to ensure that students are supervised in a safe learning environment and provided instruction that meets and exceeds Curricula and directives of WIS.

Achieving academic excellence requires that the Department head works under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Academic Director and Vice-Principal to lead teachers and to communicate effectively with parents.

Duties
  • Curriculum-Related Duties
  • Planning and Preparation
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive subject area action plan for each phase of the curriculum cycle including curriculum assessment, program support and teachers’ development
  • Facilitates grade level planning and assessment.
  • Plans and facilitates student activities to support instructional practice.
  • Develops a plan for full-time teachers through the appropriate delegation of tasks and ensuring an effective use of their time.
  • Formulate opportunities for growth and develop initiatives for learning for teachers.
  • Curriculum Development
  • Supervises and evaluates the current curriculum in the various content areas within the department so as to ensure the attainment of the school and government’s goals and objectives while meeting the instructional needs of all students.
  • Provides leadership in curriculum initiatives, the learning and teaching process and coordination of the kindergarten curriculum.
  • Consistently planning innovative ways to keep children actively engaged and adapting the program to suit the needs of the individual child or group.

  • Resource Management
  • Develops and implements teaching methodology on a regular basis to support and promote school-wide instructional objectives such as student-centered approach and critical thinking across the curriculum of the department.

  • Assesses and requests materials and equipment in order to provide instructional support to teachers in their attempts to meet curricular outcomes.
  • Coordination-Related Duties
  • Leadership
  • Provides active, positive and continuous leadership in the department. This will include mentoring, collaboration and the sharing of information so that staff motivation is at an optimum level to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Creates effective teams by inspiring and motivating staff. Being a positive role model for other staff.
  • Meets with other departments and teachers to evaluate, develop, monitor and plan implementation of curriculum, action plan for the subject area, ensure program continuity
  • Coordinates and manages the substitution plan for teachers (selects and assigns teachers) who are absent or on leave to ensure that no class is without a teacher at any time.
  • Monitors individual teachers on a regular basis by:
  • Observation and evaluation of lessons
  • Checking lesson plans
  • Monitoring or marking and assessment
  • Check and sign exam papers (Mid-Term, Semester and National Exams);
  • Communication
  • Meets with other Department Heads to discuss the curriculum cycle process and other program aspects
  • Meets with the International Program Director and Vice-Principals to keep them informed of progress and plan for needs throughout the year
  • Holds regular departmental meetings, at least once a month, at which minutes are taken and circulated or made available.
  • Liaises with Vice-Principals to ensure that quality work are encouraged, produced and updated regularly.
  • Promotes communication between home and school.
  • Encourages involvement of parents in their child’s learning
  • Reporting
  • Keeps the supervisor and management informed about projects, changes, problems, etc. by providing accurate, substantive feedback in a timely manner. Reporting procedure and frequency is determined by the supervisors.
  • Secures support of teachers in establishing meetings as a forum for information sharing and feedback.
  • Conduct a year-end performance appraisal with recommendations for each teacher.

The Student Affairs Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enriching the student experience at our institution. This dynamic position involves leading student governance, orchestrating school events and activities, fostering student participation in competitions, managing social media presence, producing the annual yearbook, and supporting various other student-related initiatives. We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about education and student development to join our team.

Duties
  • Student Council Leadership:
  • Spearheads the Student Council for secondary-level students across campuses.
  • Design and update the framework and regulations for the Student Council.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of Student Council elections at the beginning of the academic year.
  • Draft and oversee the implementation of the Student Council's annual action plan.
  • Conduct and manage monthly Student Council meetings.
  • Organize and direct the Student Council's community outreach initiatives.
  • Oversee additional student organizations, including the Newspaper Club.
  • Event and Activity Management:
  • Take the lead in organizing school events, such as Halloween, Christmas celebrations, educational field trips, outreach programs, graduation ceremonies, prom, fire drills, and sports tournaments.

  • Generate engaging content, including writing captions, posting photos, and sharing videos of school activities and events.
  • Edit photos and videos to ensure high-quality content.
  • Coordinate video production for school purposes, including scripting, casting, prop acquisition, music selection, location scouting, and scheduling.
  • Respond to inquiries and messages received through the school's social media channels.
  • Yearbook Production:
