Purpose of the Assignment
The overall purpose of the consultancy is to provide technical support to ERIP Cambodia for the planning, design, demonstration and adoption of diversified community agroforestry systems in priority areas of the Steung Siem Reap (SSR) Watershed, contributing directly to Outcome 4 and Output 4.2. The consultant will assess site-specific agroforestry opportunities and constraints, develop appropriate and diversified agroforestry models, strengthen the capacity of PDoAFF extension officers and local partners, establish community-based demonstration and training plots, and support farmers in Zones 4, 5 and 6 to adopt suitable agroforestry practices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Specific Objectives
- Assess agroforestry opportunities and constraints in priority agricultural landscapes of the SSR Watershed, particularly in Zones 4, 5 and 6.
- Identify and design appropriate, diversified agroforestry systems based on local farming systems, soil, topography, water availability, climate conditions, livelihood needs and market opportunities.
- Strengthen the technical capacity of PDoAFF extension officers through a training-of-trainers approach so that agroforestry knowledge is retained within the extension system.
- Establish community agroforestry training and demonstration plots with willing farmers on non-disputed land and use these sites as practical learning platforms for surrounding communities.
- Support farmers to adopt agroforestry practices on their own farms, including appropriate intercropping, multi-strata and multipurpose tree-based systems.
- Develop practical recommendations for scaling up community agroforestry and linking agroforestry with NTFPs, livelihoods, value chains, biodiversity conservation, restoration and climate resilience.

Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
- Experience in agroforestry, ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, climate-smart agriculture and watershed management.
- Experience preparing technical guidelines and delivering capacity building on agroforestry context in Cambodia in protected areas, Community forestry and Community in protected areas and/or wildlife sanctuaries.
- Experience with government, communities and development partners.
- Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based inputs which contribute to formulate, draft and finalize projects related to environment, forestry, natural resources management and climate change policies.
- Experience working in development partner funded nature conservation or natural resource management projects.
- Experience in Cambodia is required with the knowledge of environmental, forestry, and fisheries policies and strategies.

Purpose of the Assignment
The overall purpose of the consultancy is to assess the ecotourism potential, readiness, constraints and market opportunities of selected ERIP Cambodia target areas in the SSR watershed and to develop a practical, sustainable and community-centred framework for establishing and promoting Green Destinations. The assignment will provide the technical basis for the Green Destination handbook, community capacity building, tourism product development, partnerships and pilot implementation under Output 4.3, whereas identifying linkages with agroforestry under Output 4.2.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Specific Objectives
- Assess existing and potential ecotourism resources, products, services, visitor experiences and community participation opportunities in selected ERIP Cambodia target areas such as CPAs, CFs, CFi and relevant agroforestry landscapes.
- Identify priority sites and feasible Green Destination models based on natural and cultural assets, ecological sensitivity, community readiness, visitor access, infrastructure, safety, market demand and business potential.
- Assess existing ecotourism value chains and market linkages, including tour operators, hotels, hospitality businesses, transport providers, local guides, community enterprises and other private-sector partners.
- Develop practical standards and guidance for sustainable Green Destination development, including site management, visitor safety, WASH, hospitality, interpretation, guiding, environmental management, waste management, accessibility, community benefit sharing and conservation measures.
- Develop and/or refine community-based ecotourism products such as homestays, cultural experiences, guided nature walks, bird watching, kayaking and other appropriate nature-based activities, avoiding activities that could damage sensitive ecosystems or cultural assets.
- Identify opportunities for women-led, youth-led and inclusive enterprises and link Green Destinations with agro-tourism, NTFPs, local products and farm-to-table services where environmentally and commercially appropriate.
- Develop a practical Green Destination handbook and implementation roadmap, including pilot sites, capacity-building needs, partnership opportunities, financing options and monitoring indicators.

Purpose of the Assignment
The overall purpose of the consultancy is to identify, assess, design and support the piloting of sustainable NTFP-based livelihood options for local communities and farmers in selected ERIP Cambodia target areas, with particular attention to their integration with community agroforestry, forest restoration and sustainable natural resource management (NRM). The assignment will establish a practical basis for moving communities from simple NTFP collection toward sustainable production/harvesting, processing, value addition, enterprise development and market access, while increasing household income and strengthening incentives for conservation and restoration.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Specific Objectives
- Assess existing NTFP resources, uses, harvesting practices and livelihood dependence in selected ERIP Cambodia target areas, and identify priority NTFP species and products with realistic potential for sustainable income generation and community enterprises.
- Assess the ecological sustainability and market performance of priority NTFPs across production/collection, processing, aggregation, transportation, trade and marketing, and identify opportunities for value addition and private-sector/value-chain partnerships.
- Develop practical NTFP-based livelihood models compatible with conservation, restoration and agroforestry objectives, including mechanisms to integrate suitable NTFPs into diversified and multi-strata agroforestry systems under Output 4.2.
- Develop practical guidance for sustainable harvesting, cultivation, processing, storage, packaging, quality control and product development for selected priority NTFPs, with attention to community-level feasibility.
- Develop and deliver practical training on sustainable NTFP harvesting, processing, value addition, marketing and basic enterprise management, with meaningful participation of women, youth and vulnerable groups.
- Develop a pilot and scaling-up strategy, including priority sites, beneficiaries, partnerships, financing options, institutional arrangements, risk mitigation and monitoring indicators.
