LOCATION Based in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, based on need, with travel to the province/community where the project is operated.
PURPOSE
The Nutrition MERL Intern will support monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning efforts across Transforming Lives interventions, with an emphasis on improving data quality, organization, and decision-making. The overall goal of this internship is to strengthen evidence-based program management while building the intern’s applied MERL skills in data collection, analysis, and learning systems within an INGO context. Illustrative deliverables may include cleaned and validated datasets, updated indicator-tracking tools, simple data visualizations, learning notes, and structured inputs for donor and internal reports.

COMPENSATION
The Intern will receive a monthly gross stipend of USD 300, inclusive of NSSF and private insurance coverage. In addition, iDE Cambodia will cover all authorized travel to the provinces in accordance with standard organizational rates and policies, provided that such travel aligns with approved project objectives and activities.
- The Nutrition MERL Intern will work closely with project MERL staff to support routine monitoring, data management, and learning activities.
- Support routine data collection, cleaning, validation, and entry into project databases.
- Maintain and update indicator tracking tools and monitoring dashboards.
- Assist with surveys, FGD, assessments, and research activities, including field support as needed.
- Support basic data analysis and visualization (tables, charts, simple dashboards).
- Compile MERL inputs for monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
- Assist in documenting lessons learned, case studies, and learning notes.
- Support periodic field monitoring visits to verify data quality and implementation progress.
- Assist the MERL team in strengthening data organization and filing systems.

The overall goal of the internship is to strengthen the quality and consistency of nutrition implementation while building the intern’s capacity to apply nutrition theory in real-world, multi-sectoral development programming. Illustrative deliverables may include summarized monitoring reports of school feeding activities, compiled datasets from nutrition spot checks, draft inputs for donor reports, and well-documented field observations highlighting lessons learned and implementation challenges.

The CKM Intern will enhance the quality, consistency, and visibility of project communications by supporting storytelling, documentation, and knowledge sharing related to nutrition programming among others. The overall goal of the internship is to strengthen donor and stakeholder engagement while building the intern’s professional skills in communication for development, knowledge management, and donor-focused reporting. Illustrative deliverables may include polished human-interest stories, photo essays, draft newsletter content, organized communications libraries, and presentation materials highlighting project impact and learning.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
The CKM Intern is structured under the iDE Cambodia Communication and Knowledge Management Department and reports directly to CKM Senior Manager. The CKM Intern will also liaise with communication points of contact from nutrition focused projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Nutrition Communications and Knowledge Management Intern will support internal and external communications and systematic documentation of project results and learning.
- Knowledge generation, dissemination, and documentation
- Draft and edit project success stories, case studies, and field updates.
- Collect, organize, and curate photos, quotes, and success stories from field teams.
- Assist in preparing communication materials such as factsheets, briefs, and presentations.
- Support preparation of donor communications, newsletters, and reporting inputs.
- Support development of content for the website and social media platforms, where applicable.
- Maintain and organize a structured communications and knowledge management library.

This position will be responsible for supporting two teams within iDE: the Innovation Lab and SHE teams.(The scope and emphasis of responsibilities may evolve over time. New tasks may be added, and existing ones may be adjusted as needed.)

- Support the team in conducting desk research, developing strategies, and shaping concepts to strengthen market actors and entrepreneurs within the TLTN intervention
