APLE Cambodia is a child protection and child rights NGO founded in 2003, dedicated to combating the sexual abuse and exploitation of children across Cambodia. Our mission is to strengthen social and legal mechanisms that protect children at risk and those affected by abuse. As part of a newly funded project, we are seeking highly qualified professionals for the following positions to help implement the project’s objectives.

Announcement Positions

Project Accountant

Position Circumstances

Position Summary

Post Level: FDC

Duration: 12 months (renewable)

Duty Station: Phnom Penh with a possibility of traveling to provinces

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Verify all requests, payments, and settlements to ensure that supporting documents are appropriate, in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, as well as donors' guidelines.
  • Prepare monthly and annual tax declarations, as well as NSSF/pension funds.
  • Keep cashbooks up to date and perform regular cash counts weekly/monthly.
  • Assist in the process of staff payroll and benefits payment.
  • Communicate with banks to obtain necessary documents and handle bank reconciliations.
  • Aid in maintaining records of all project expenditures to accounting system.
  • Monitor project actuals in comparison to budgets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and other transactions.
  • Conduct analysis of project costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with the financial policies of both the organization and the donors.
  • Take responsibility for asset registration, management, and reporting.
  • Assist in the process of recruitment.
  • Provide administrative support to the project teams, management, and the entire organization. Provide overall assistance with performing tasks of the finance and administration department.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Skills & Knowledge:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in project accounting, finance, and administration, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Proficiency with accounting software like QuickBooks and project management tools

  • Maintain referral pathways with communities and industries.
  • Supervise program staff, set objectives, coach, review performance, and ensure wellbeing.
  • Define program indicators and tools, coordinate data collection, data quality checks, and learning activities, and use results to adapt programming.
  • Compile donor and management reports with clear outputs/outcomes and budget updates.
  • Co-create campaigns and IEC and represent program to partners and media as needed.

  • Provide immediate psycho-social support to child survivors at crisis intervention stages and throughout court proceedings, following operational procedures.
  • Conduct risk and need assessments to inform service provision.
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate support services, following established procedures.
  • Keep track of clients and maintain up-to-date case information to ease support provision and case management.
  • Communicate with aftercare services (NGO partners, caregivers, guardians) to track client status and services provided.
  • Maintain and update service-related documents.
  • Input client data into the database and Case Management System.

  • Produce routine operational and donor reports and track performance trends and corrective actions
