Duties
  • Duties and responsibilities
  • Under leadership of the Director, support the Department of QLTS in the day-to-day operations of the department,
  • Ensuring consistency of practice and maintenance of optimal service levels for faculties, students, local and international partners and alumni
  • Interpret and implement UP policies and regulations relevant to the role
  • Timely support of faculty members, to coordinate and develop Memoranda of Understanding with local and international hospitals, NGOs and other university partners
  • Plan, develop and implement related activities and assist Director, QLTS in the development, management and implementation of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Supervise, control and evaluate engagement and partnership programs and services
  • Proactively engage with faculty colleagues, external partners and graduated students program areas with major impact on students and their UP experience
  • Serve as liaison with faculty and other departments to maintain a strong presence with students
  • Serve as a translator for documents and in coordination with the Director, Quality, Learning and Teaching, and Students

Requirements
  • Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor Degree in Education, Marketing or similar qualification.
  • At least one year working in a related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with students (preferred) or a similar combination of qualification and related experience.

Position Summary:

This full time position reports to the Student Support Coordinator. The Student Experience Officer is responsible for the out-of-classroom student experience at the University, including development of student leadership skills, careers planning, academic counselling, scholarships and learning support. The Student Experience Officer also takes responsibility for conducting ad hoc and regular Student Experience and University Experience surveys and questionnaires to assure quality student experiences.

The incumbent of this role acts with a significant degree of autonomy in activities with major impact on students and the student experience of the University.

Duties

  • Under leadership of the Student Support Coordinator, perform day-to-day operations of the SEU, ensuring consistency of practice and maintenance of optimal service levels
  • Develop, implement and review out-of-classroom student leadership programs,
  • Career planning and learning support activities, and academic counselling activities that support the QILT Department’s operational plan and University strategy and objectives
  • Under guidance from the Student Support Coordinator develop,

  • Research and deliver academic advising regarding the University’s academic programs, scholarships, internships and financial aid
  • Support the provision of safety and security of students on campus and at University-related events including field trips

Duties
  • The overall job description below outlines the main areas of responsibilities of the Employee:
  • Prepare in each semester the lecture schedule for MD students, in agreement with the lecturers and under the guidance of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs
  • Collect course outlines, learning outcomes, list of course books from lecturers to be ready at least two weeks before the start of each semester
  • Review the students’ assessment of lecturers and prepare a summary to be submitted to the Dean within two weeks after the end of each semester
  • Under the guidance of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, liaise with the Office of the Registrar to prepare MD end-of-semester exams and exit exams, including OSCE.
  • Collect marked exam papers.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Dean for Clinical Affairs in the organization and supervision of simulation sessions for medical students.
  • Support Medicine Rotations Officers and Medicine Laboratory Assistants in their work.
  • Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean and the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs.
