Translator and Interpreter (10 Positions)
Position Summary Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
Job Location: 5 positions based in Ratanakiri province; 5 positions based in Tboung Khmum Province.
- Translation:
- Converting written documents and other materials from Chinese language to Khmer/English, while maintaining the original meaning, style, and tone.
- Ensuring accuracy and consistency in translations, including technical terms and specialized vocabulary.
- Interpretation:
- Translating spoken words from Chinese language to Khmer/ English
- Accurately conveying the speaker's message, including nuances and context.
- Ensuring that interpretations are clear, concise, and easy to understand.
- Identifying and correcting errors in translations or interpretations.
- Fluency in Chinese: Strong command of the source and target languages, including grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.
- Strong listening, comprehension, and communication skills: Ability to accurately interpret spoken language and convey messages effectively.
- Knowledge of translation/interpretation techniques: Understanding of different translation methods and best practices for interpretation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy: Ability to identify and correct errors in translations or interpretations.
