Training Consultancy on Gender-Sensitive Parenting Skills and Conflict Transformation

Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to design and deliver a comprehensive and context-specific training program on gender-sensitive parenting skills and conflict transformation for targeted communities and stakeholders involved in the project. The consultancy aims to strengthen the capacity of caregivers, community leaders, service providers, and project staff in promoting positive parenting practices that uphold gender equality, prevent gender-based violence (GBV), and foster peaceful family and community relationships. The consultant will also support the integration of gender-transformative and conflict-sensitive approaches into existing community interventions, contributing to the overall goal of enhancing the resilience, safety, and well-being of women, children, and vulnerable groups within the project areas.
Training’s objectives:
The main objective of this training is to strengthen CHEC capacity to be able to carry on the knowledge and experiences into action to bring sustainable development to coverage target area that CHEC has been implementing its activities. The main objective of the consultancy is to develop and deliver a culturally relevant and participatory training program that:
- Enhances understanding of gender-sensitive parenting and non-violent discipline approaches.
- Strengthens practical parenting skills that promote child development, emotional intelligence, and healthy family dynamics.
- Builds community capacity for conflict transformation, including mediation, dialogue, and prevention of domestic and gender-based violence.
- Encourages positive gender roles and shared responsibility between caregivers.
Bidder Eligibility
- The selected consultant or consultancy team is expected to demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies:
- Advanced degree in gender studies, psychology, social work, conflict resolution, education, human rights, or a related social science field.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in designing and delivering training or capacity-building programs on gender-sensitive parenting, gender-based violence prevention, child protection, or conflict transformation. Strong background in working with diverse and vulnerable communities, especially in rural or post-conflict contexts. Demonstrated experience in facilitating participatory, adult-learning-based training approaches.
- In-depth knowledge of gender equality, women’s empowerment, GBV prevention, child development, positive discipline, and social norms transformation. Strong understanding of conflict sensitivity, mediation, and peacebuilding approaches in community settings.
- Understanding: Familiarity with the social and cultural context of Cambodia, particularly regarding gender norms, family dynamics, and community structures. Experience working with indigenous populations, ethnic minorities, LGBTIQ individuals, and other marginalized groups is an asset.
- Khmer language is a Must. Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality training materials, manuals, and reports in a timely and professional manner.
- Must be available within the agreed consultancy timeframe and able to travel to the field if needed.
