A typical week in this role will include guiding small groups of English speakers to eat local food, completing daily administrative and operational tasks, and providing training and giving feedback to our team of freelance guides. This role does not require you to be a professional guide.

Duties
  • Have excellent written and spoken English & Khmer, preferably with work or education experience in an English-speaking environment.
  • Are passionate about Khmer cuisine and can’t wait to share it with guests every day. You possess a high level of knowledge about local cuisine and craft beverages like beer and cocktails.
  • Display a strong ability to read and understand guests through unspoken cues like body language, tone and behavior. You think quickly on your feet while making adjustments to create a personalized experience every time.
  • Are a captivating storyteller that is able to transform rehearsed information into stories and descriptions that engage guests and capture their attention.
  • Can transform repetitive actions into unique memories every time. Have the ability to follow detailed processes and instructions while remembering facts, stories and tasks.
  • Are confident in making decisions independently that will impact the business.
  • Are an experienced user in administrative software applications like Excel, Google Docs, and email.
  • You are fun, enthusiastic, and outgoing – ready to be a brand ambassador for our company.
  • Able to contribute other skills to our small and ambitious team, such as writing travel tips for our guests, taking and editing photos/videos, and/or performing sales tasks with partners and hotels.
Requirements
  • Lead groups of English-speaking guests on 4-hour food tours in Siem Reap, as required. Your role is to ensure daily tours are available – even for last minute bookings.
  • Train and manage part-time food tour guides using our standard training process, and understand each guide’s performance by reviewing guest comments and data-driven feedback scores.
  • Maintain perfect customer feedback and 5-star online reviews.
  • Creating, arranging, and communicating weekly schedules and logistics to guides, vendors, drivers. Build strong relationships with all our partners.
  • Use online software platforms to create and manage reservations for guests and provide basic customer service tasks.
  • Track expenses for each tour, and reimburse guides for each tour in a timely manner. Ensure each tour is earning maximum profitability.
