Technical Supervisor

Position Summary

Hours of work: 40 hours a week.

Travel requirements: Occasional travel to the provinces with overnight stays (2-3 days per month). Regular regional travel (1-2 times/year).

Salary grade: 800$-1167$ (starting salary range $800-$907)

Additional benefits: 13-month salary, indemnity payments, health allowance & insurance, meals, self-care allowance and education allowance.

Job purpose and brief

Purpose: To ensure the quality of services for clients in the program and good relationships with outside partners through the effective oversight of development of staff, services and expertise.

Brief: The Technical Supervisor is responsible for the ensuring the quality of client care across the Ratanak Achievement Program, through developing best practice both for residential and community services, growing staff capacity and encouraging client-centered decisions. They are responsible for supporting the development of competence in technical skills across all staff. This involves coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders in Cambodia and internationally, while keeping a focus on the highest standards of client care internally.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Manage staff, providing clear leadership, standards and support.
  • Oversee the monitoring the quality of client services, ensuring ongoing regular feedback to psychosocial staff on the quality of their clinical and case management work.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, reports and recommendations to the management team regarding training and professional development for psychosocial staff.
  • Coordinate capacity building through training and coaching on specific skills to improve program delivery across the organization.
  • Support the smooth implementation of policy and procedure changes with psychosocial staff
  • Assist with the recruitment and orientation of new psychosocial staff including volunteers and interns
  • Understand the picture of clients’ journeys, growth and development through analysis of their experience and needs.
  • Oversee effective data-gathering, monitoring and reporting against objectives for both internal and external projects.
  • Manage communication of client and staff stories and images to the international headquarters, ensuring ethical gathering and use of materials
  • Develop and improve policy, procedures and tools for Ratanak and nationally as defined in annual plans, ensuring effective implementation and integration with IT systems.
  • Support the development of a comprehensive set of training materials for staff and for clients, ensuring consistency and accessible storage of materials
  • Organise and attend team meetings and briefings as needed.
  • Provide input to the senior management team on issues of client experience, improvement to client procedures and practice, and related areas.
  • Engage in personal development, including researching emerging concepts and methodologies that will further support client’s growth and development in all areas.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Experience and knowledge
  • Essential:
  • Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in social work, psychology or other relevant field.
  • At least 2 years experience in supervisory role. 
  • Experience with use and development of tools for client assessment
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with those who have experienced exploitation & trauma.
  • Fluent in English (equivalent to IELTS Level 6 or above) 
  • Experience of using MS Office suite of programs to communicate and manage information effectively in a range of contexts. 
  • Experience of personal therapy or willingness to engage with this.
  • Desired:
  • Experience of delivering and designing training
  • Thorough knowledge of policies and good practice on psychosocial services
  • At least 2 years of active membership in a church community.
