In 2014, Smiling Gecko Cambodia (SGC) was officially registered as a local NGO in Cambodia. SGC is legally independent of Smiling Gecko Switzerland. Following its mission of “Cambodians helping Cambodians” the organization, focuses on fighting the causes of poverty and helping people to help themselves. To this end, SGC launched a project on a previously acquired site to the North of Phnom Penh whose objective is to provide several thousand Cambodians with future job training and a regular income in the sectors of education, agriculture, tourism, industry, and trade.

Position Summary

REPORT TO : Vocational Training Manager

FUNCTION : Technical and Vocational Education and Training

LOCATION : Kampong Chhnang Province

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the implementation of TVET programs, training schedules, and day-to-day vocational training activities in line with approved plans.
  • Support the TVET Manager in planning, monitoring, evaluating, and continuously improving TVET programs.
  • Coordinate and support vocational trainers to ensure effective competency-based training delivery and promote professional development.
  • Coordinate the implementation of curricula, learning materials, practical training, and assessment processes to meet organizational, industry, and national TVET standards.
  • Monitor trainee attendance, performance, discipline, and progress reports, and coordinate student orientation, assessments, graduation, and career readiness activities.
  • Facilitate the academic materials for trainers if needed.
  • Coordinate internships, apprenticeships, workplace learning, job replacement, industry visits, and collaboration with employers’ educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, trainee performance, assessments, certification, and other program documentation.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on program implementation, trainee outcomes, and key performance indicators to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, occupational health and safety requirements, quality assurance standards, and relevant TVET regulations, and support audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other departments and perform other duties as assigned by the TVET Manager.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resource Development or another relevant field.
Work History:
  • Technical and vocational education, training coordination, education administration, or a related field for 4 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Experience coordinating vocational training programs or supporting competency-based education is preferred.
  • Experience working with NGOs, educational institutions, or development organizations is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of competency-based training, curriculum implementation, and quality assurance.
Soft Skills
  • Strong coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Good leadership, team collaboration, and trainer support abilities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Position Summary

REPORT TO : Vocational Training Manager

FUNCTION : Administration / Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)

LOCATION : Kampong Chhnang Province

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support for the implementation of TVET programs and departmental activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of trainee enrollment, attendance, assessments, certification, and other program documentation.
  • Coordinate training schedules, classrooms, workshops, meetings, and related logistics.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and other administrative documents.
  • Support the registration, orientation, graduation, and certification processes for trainees.
  • Assist in maintaining training materials, office supplies, equipment inventories management, and workshop resources.
  • Collect, compile, and update program data to support monitoring and reporting.
  • Coordinate communication with trainees, trainers, suppliers, and external stakeholders regarding administrative matters.
  • Updated monthly attendant list and maintain the attendant lists for reporting.
  • Prepare and manage the TVET marketing material.
  • Crossed check with trainees’ families in case their children are absent or any serious occurs
  • Ensure proper filing and compliance with organizational policies and record management procedures.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the TVET Program Coordinator or TVET Manager.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent is required
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
Work History:
  • Administration, education support, or office coordination for 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Good written and spoken English; Khmer language proficiency is essential.
Soft Skills
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
