Structural Engineer

O.E.I (Cambodia) Co., Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to assist with inspection/structural projects. The position will provide engineering support to the Asset Integrity & Engineering Teams for customer projects in heavy industrial sectors such as, Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries. The position requires the Structural Engineer to perform in varying roles related to project management, quality reviews, training, and detailed engineering design and technical support.

- Project management, quality reviews, and training employees.
- Perform analytical modeling of structures and components of structures utilizing STAAD/RISA 3d software or other structural software.
- Check inspection reports by assigning repair priorities and providing repair recommendations, based on the inspection findings.
- Produce drawings in accordance with the current industry and company’s standards.
- Provide recommendations and repair plans for critical deficiencies found in the field during inspection work.
- Assist with engineering studies, calculations, detailed design documents and specifications.
- Review calculations, drawings, and reports produced by other structural engineers or inspectors in the office.
- Design structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation.
- Develop, maintain, and upgrade technical standards/specifications to be used on specific projects, as well as centralized design basis and historical references.
- Complete all tasks in accordance with design and project execution procedures and guidelines as set forth in the corporate Project Management System.
- Manage project progress relative to project plan, schedule, and budget.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important.
- Use of current computer software including general office products, design and business enterprise software. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) required – create models thru the final solution based on the project’s inputs.
- Contribute to company improvements in workflow, methods of work execution, and continued standards improvements.
- Minimum Requirements
- BS Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university,
- Five + years of prior professional experience,
- Experience in fall protection design is preferred,
- Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or foundation design,
- Be knowledgeable of US Customary Unit and STAAD/RISA analytical software or equivalent is preferred,
- Exposure to the Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries is preferred,
- Communicate proficiently both written and spoken English.
- Preferred Qualifications
- MS Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university is preferred.
