Srepok Project Officers (3 Positions)
Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified and motivated individuals to join our team in Mondulkiri Province. The successful candidate will support the implementation of REDD+ initiatives in Srepok, ensuring that project activities align with community needs and conservation goals.
- Collect, analyze and manage data in target zones with multiple and diverse stakeholders in all development sectors, such as health, education and awareness, livelihood, food security, environment conservation, and local business.
- Facilitate inclusive and participatory community meetings to share information on REDD+ objectives, rights, and benefits.
- Coordinate between project team members and all relevant stakeholders.
- Support the establishment of youth eco-clubs and school environmental teams.
- Work closely with Indigenous communities, elders, and women's groups to understand traditional practices and integrate local knowledge into agricultural interventions.
- Organized and deliver workshops to all relevant stakeholders.
- Actively engage with community leaders, Indigenous representatives, government agencies, and civil society organizations to strengthen collaboration.
- Provide regular field updates, recommendations, and technical inputs to support project planning and strategic decisions.
- Prepare and submit timely, high-quality reports on field activities, community engagement, and program progress.
- Work closely with Country Director and Deputy Country Directors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 (+) years of field experience working with rural communities in development.
- Strong public speaking - experience in communicating and engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of REDD+ principles, FPIC, and social safeguards is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to build inclusive partnerships.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-management and independent working capability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Good written and spoken English.
- Driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel extensively and live in remote field locations.
Community Conservation Officer (1 Position)
Location: Samkos and Southern Cardamom REDD+ Project areas
Role Overview
Our REDD+ initiative aims to conserve forests and strengthen park management systems in Samkos and Southern Cardamom National Park (SCNP) through active, respectful, and inclusive engagement with forest communities and particularly Indigenous Peoples. The CCO is responsible for strengthening relationships between conservation teams and these communities by promoting open communication, mutual respect, inclusive engagement and shared responsibility for natural resource management and forest protection.
- Design and conduct stakeholder interviews and questionnaires.
- Conduct regular monthly meetings with park staff and local communities across all 15 ranger stations.
- Document findings and recommend practical conservation and community engagement strategies.
- Develop and update conservation communication plans and materials.
- Deliver REDD+, climate change and human rights training to new enforcement officers.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange between ranger stations.
- Provide inputs to outreach campaigns to ensure accurate and effective communication.
- Promote positive behavior change regarding forest use, waste management, and conservation practices.
- Recommend improvements to park management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Community Development, Environmental Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 5+ years of field experience in park management and/or community-based conservation.
- Understanding of the social dynamics and human rights issues involved in conservation work, ideally with Indigenous Peoples or rural communities.
- Understanding of REDD+ principles, FPIC, and social safeguards is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and emotional intelligence skills.
- Literacy in Khmer and English (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and manage complex tasks.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills, including negotiation and collaboration.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic photography and videography skills.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel frequently.
