SCOPE OF WORK & DESIRED OUTCOMES:
Kids Play International is seeking an experienced Field-Based Sport for Development Training Specialist for our Cambodia program. This role supports the development, training, and evaluation of coaches, staff, and programs.
The ideal candidate has strong and prior train-the-trainer experience in Sport for Development, can quickly learn our curriculum, and effectively build staff capacity. They should understand how sport drives personal development and how to measure program impact.
Candidates must have intercultural experience, and demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Program Training
- Lead, deliver, oversee, and evaluate weekly coach training and training of trainers of our program coordinator for our around year-round Let's Play Fair, All Girls United and Play Fair Community programs within KPI's existing intervention and curriculum framework.
- Deliver ongoing curriculum training to KPI's coaches and staff.
- Assess and deliver training sessions to improve program delivery and evaluation performance
- Assist coaching staff in carrying out weekly LPF and Community Day program sessions.
- Program Monitoring & Evaluation
- Attend weekly programs and oversee Captain Coach and Coaches to complete observation forms and weekly reports
- Oversee and assist in collecting and organizing program attendance,
- Train staff on how to properly conduct surveys, observations and focus group discussions as they pertain to monitoring and evaluation of activities outlined in grants.
- Assist in writing weekly/quarterly reports and assist with external grant reports pertaining to the specific grant deliverables outlined for the LPF program
- Help conduct and evaluate activities as outlined in grants KPI has received.
- Liaise with partner school leadership to ensure strong alignment in programming, scheduling, etc
- Communicate scheduling updates/changes to coaching team
- Khmer - Fluent is preferred
- English - Fluent
- Bachelor's Degree
- Trainer in the sport for development sector for 4 years as a minimum
- Proven experience in empowering and training staff to deliver high quality programs.
- Experience in the areas of sport for development
- Ability to empower, mentor and train local staff
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Khmer
- High degree of computer literacy to train others (excel, word, PPT, G-Suite)
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Cultural sensitivity, including ability to adapt well to local cultures
- Proven ability to function well in a lower-resourced environment
- Strong liaison and communication skills
- Innovative and creative thinking
