Mother’s Heart is the first and currently only crisis pregnancy center in Cambodia. MH has developed a program that is at the forefront of preventing child family separation and supporting women with unplanned or unwanted pregnancies. We proactively support single women and their families through crisis pregnancies ensuring that every unplanned/unwanted baby of a single woman is either raised by his/her mother, extended family, or is placed in permanent foster care. Mother’s Heart has two main programs: 1. Crisis Pregnancy Counseling 2. Pregnancy Support Program. Through our Crisis Pregnancy Counseling program, every woman is able to make informed decisions on what is best for her and the future of her baby. Our Pregnancy Support program offers women access to support if they want to parent their babies, find close relatives who can parent their babies, or place their babies in a new family.

Position Summary

Location: Phnom Penh (Travelling and overnight stay at provincial)

Report to: Senior Social Worker

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial intakes with new clients.
  • Manage client cases carrying a load of 10-15 cases.
  • Assess client’s strengths, weaknesses, situation, and support networks to determine their goals
  • Maintains clients' records through case notes and other documentation. Facilitate clients in creating their service plans, case agreements.
  • Coordinate client care that is client centered so clients achieve wellness and autonomy
  • Communicate with partner NGOs about shared cases.
  • Participate in case meetings.
  • Counsel, educate, and empower single women with crisis pregnancies.
  • Be a supportive individual to clients as they go through crisis and adjust to change in their lives
  • Mediate difficult family situations
  • Help women find their own solutions and support them in their decision process
  • Advocate for clients in the community. Link them with other relevant agencies and community leaders.
  • Complete on time all relevant counseling paper work and monthly reports. Maintain clear organized case notes.
  • Respond to crisis situations such as child abuse
  • Evaluate service provided to ensure they are effective
  • Offer information and education to clients on crisis pregnancy options, positive parenting, contraception, healthy relationships.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good is preferred
  • Khmer - Fluent is required
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a similar field
Work History:
  • Over experience as a social worker for 3 years
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Language requirement: Fluent in Khmer, English abilities preferable.

  • Be an honest, adaptable, and kind person
  • Be highly organized, observant, able to plan, clearly communication, and problem solve.
