GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS

The Social Work Program Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating student welfare, social support, and inclusion programs at EHT Paul Dubrule.

The position plays a key role in supporting disadvantaged students, strengthening student well-being, improving retention, and ensuring equal access to education through social affairs activities, counselling, and community engagement.

The outcomes of this position are expected to:

  • Promote equal access to education for disadvantaged and vulnerable students.
  • Strengthen student well-being, retention, and academic performance.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning and living environment.
  • Strengthen partnerships with NGOs and relevant institutions in support of student development.
  • Improve student behavior, motivation, engagement, and life skills.
  • Contribute to a strong support system that enables students to successfully complete their studies.
  • Adherence and Promotion internally of DIE policies (equality of gender, LGBTQ+, handicap, race, age, religion etc…)
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Leadership of SAC (Social Affairs Committee)
  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise the SAC (Social Affairs Committee) activities.
  • Plan and manage the recruitment process for scholarship and disadvantaged students.
  • Coordinate family visits, home investigations, and social background assessments for applicants and existing students.
  • Maintain accurate records and case files for scholarship and supported students.
  • Report for the donors
  • Manage and support scholarship’s student, including regular meetings and action plans.
  • Oversee student dormitory matters in collaboration with relevant staff (well-being, discipline, hygiene, safety, caring, and rules).
  • Coordinate support services for students (financial aid, counselling, emergency support, referrals).
  • Identify and respond to student social issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Student Coaching and Counselling
  • Plan and conduct individual and group counselling sessions for students facing:
  • Learning difficulties
  • Frequent absenteeism
  • Behavioral challenges
  • Stress, anxiety, or emotional difficulties
  • Family and social problems
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to help students improve self-confidence, motivation, and responsibility.
  • Work closely with teachers to identify at-risk students early.
  • Refer serious cases to professional services when necessary (psychologists, social services, NGOs).
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all counselling cases.
  • Monitor and follow up on student progress.
  • Working with parents by meeting with the parents to inform student’s information regarding student’s performance and behavior acts at the school, etc.
  • Student Recruitment Support & Community Outreach
  • Support to promote school program awareness by build relationships with target high schools, NGOs partners, and community partners aims to recruit potential students from disadvantage families.
  • Support the education teams in high school visits and career orientation events.
  • Support student selection and interview processes during recruitment periods.

  • Stay current: learning from colleagues’ development via publications, coursework, in-house workshops, etc.
  • Participate in staff development programs, suggest own development needs
  • Seek to improve personal practice and learning.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Show exemplary nature in own behaviors and appearance with students and with our guests.
  • Maintain a positive, helpful, and friendly environment.
  • Promote and ensure the good reputation of the school (act as a role model to students and staff)
  • Collaborate with other departments in related areas and foster a team spirit.
  • Attend bi-weekly teaching meetings report on the student’s case and get information from the teachers of other cases to be handle.
  • Participate in school events (Open House, Careers Fair, Admissions Day, graduation ceremonies, etc.)
  • Networking - establish and maintain relationships with NGOs, foundations, and relevant organizations.
  • Administration & reporting (ensure proper documentation of all social work activities such as student welfare cases, scholarship database, counselling and coaching activities, dormitory issues, maintain up-to-date databases of supported students and partners donor requirement reports, etc.)
  • Support translation tasks when required (Khmer – English / English – Khmer)
  • Other duties will be required by the manager.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling, Community Development, or related fields
  • Master's Degree is preferred
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Additional training in student counseling, child protection, safeguarding, or case management is highly desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in: Social work or student welfare programs, educational environment or youth development projects, working with disadvantaged or vulnerable youth, at least 2 years in a supervisory/coordination role or in a senior position.
  • Experience working with NGOs, donors, government institutions, or development organizations is a strong advantage
  • Experience in student recruitment, scholarship programs, dormitory management, or case management is an asset
  • Be prepared to adapt flexibly to the different situations that arise in student education.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • a. Student counseling techniques and case management
  • b. Scholarship/student support program coordination
  • c. Psychosocial support for vulnerable students
  • d. Safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Ability to conduct:
  • a. Student interviews and assessments
  • b. Family visits and social investigations
  • c. Risk assessments and support plans
  • d. Strong report writing skills in: English and Khmer (required), French is an advantage
  • Excellent computer skills - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, Outlook express, etc.
  • Strong planning, organizing, leadership & coordination skills
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Work with teachers, management, parents, and partners
  • Accept the working conditions - traveling and spend night over for mission for family visits, high school visit, join career fair, meeting with NGOs, and any outreach activities, etc.
