Position Summary

About Club 54:

The name Club 54 is inspired by Article 54 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which highlights the responsibility of society to ensure children have access to information, opportunity, and support for their development.

Club 54 combines a community café, collaborative workspace, and creative and learning environment to create a safe and inspiring place where young people can develop ideas, learn practical skills, and connect with mentors and partners.

The Shift Supervisor ensures high‑quality coffee and beverage preparation, excellent customer service, and safe café operations during assigned shifts. The role provides frontline supervision to Baristas and volunteers, acting as a role model for Club 54’s child‑centred approach and customer experience.

Contract length: Fixed Duration Contract (FDC), renewable, full-time.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma in or equivalent required; further training in hospitality, business, or management is preferred
Work History:
  • At least of café experience with some informal leadership responsibilities for 1 year
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Barista training or hospitality certification desirable
Soft Skills
  • Strong customer service skills, reliability, and ability to manage busy periods calmly.
  • Behaviours and other generic sections as per template (accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity, integrity, plus equal opportunities, safeguarding, health and safety).
 
 

Barista (3 Positions)

Position Summary

The Barista prepares beverages and simple food items, provides friendly and efficient customer service, and maintains cleanliness and safety in the café. The role contributes to a child‑friendly, inclusive atmosphere aligned with Club 54’s mission and values.

Contract length: Fixed Duration Contract (FDC), renewable, full-time.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma in or equivalent required; further training in hospitality or business
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Prior café or customer service experience preferred but not essential if willing to learn.
Soft Skills
  • Strong customer service skills, reliability, and ability to manage busy periods calmly.
