The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. WCS's goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the world's biodiversity. We currently manage about 500 conservation projects in more than 60 countries.

WCS has been working in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia since 1999, providing technical advice and support for the conservation of key habitats and species across the country.

The WCS Cambodia program is growing rapidly! We are expanding our team and are looking for applications from qualified candidates to fill the following position. Detailed job description of the position is attached.

Senior REDD+ GIS Analyst

Position Circumstances

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, land management, agriculture, forestry, environmental science, biodiversity conservation, climate change, Reduce Emission from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+), computer science/software engineering, or a related field.
Work History:
  • Relevant professional experience for 3 to 5 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Advanced skills in GIS and remote sensing software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, GEE, ENVI, ERDAS).
  • Proficiency in spatial data management and programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript, GEE).
  • Experience working with governments and NGOs.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and coordination skills.
  • Fluency in Khmer and proficiency in English (especially reading and writing).
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
