Senior Media and Communication Officer

Position Summary

Salary Range: Grad D, Step 1

While your demonstrated experience is valuable, CARE is seeking a creative, enthusiast candidate who brings existing knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about CARE, equality of women and girls, and women’s empowerment activities.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage and execute country office’s media and communications strategy
  • Member of resource mobilization; provide communications input for proposal and funding
  • Collaborate with program team to support project communications planning, produce IEC materials and maintain media activities
  • Uphold CARE’s ethical story telling standard and main consistent messaging across country office
  • Uphold CARE’s commitment to safeguarding, equality of women and girls, and disability inclusion

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in media and communications, journalism, international relations, international development or other related field.
  • 2 years relevant work experience, preferably with an international non-governmental organisation (INGO) and/or private company; and
  • Excellent communication skills in Khmer and good oral and written English; Proven commitment to inclusive development, promote equality of women & girls, and participatory approaches
  • Demonstrated experience producing impactful stories that highlight change created through projects, in a range of formats;
  • Knowledge of planning and executing project communications through ranges of formats and engagement.
  • Knowledge of or a willingness to learn about women and girls equality and women’s empowerment activities;
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, planning, problem solving and team building skills;
