Position Summary

Job Summary

The Senior Communicate officer is under the general supervision and guidance of Executive Director, and direct supervision of Program Manager, the incumbent is responsible for major specific duties and responsibilities as below:

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Media Management Tasks:
  • Create and execute media and communication strategies to achieve the organization's objectives.
  • Oversee the organization's social media accounts and digital content.
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops on media and communication skills.
  • Work closely with Project Coordinators and Project Officers to provide capacity building on media skills and coach community journalists (CJs), film crew, and radio team.
  • Manage CJs to meet the targets of the organization's program and monitor them to post articles on media platforms.
  • Managing Graphic Design/Print Materials - Produce print-based report, infographic, flyers, logos, letterhead, event programs, training materials, newsletters.
  • Managing Photo/Video/Audio Production - Performs technical duties in the production of video and audio projects, video streaming, and other field and studio video and audio productions.
  • Communication Coordination Tasks:
  • Ensure BCV’s Website, YouTube channel, Facebook Page, and Blog are current and fully functional.
  • Craft, revise, proofread, and format copy.
  • Assist the resource mobilization team with drafting press releases and promotional content.
  • Create media and communication policies to enhance BCV’s visibility and marketing efforts.
  • Offer ICT technical support to both BCV staff and the community.
  • Regularly update BCV’s Website, blog, page, YouTube, and other platforms with program events.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in media and communication roles.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital media tools and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Creativity and ability to think strategically.
