Senior Analyst – Value Creation

Job Purpose
This role is mainly focused on the value creation work for portfolio companies that BRCM has invested across Southeast Asia while the Senior Analyst will get to work on industry/market research as well as financial analysis/modeling of portfolio companies. The Senior Analyst will also have an opportunity to work very closely with the SME Portfolio Director. The Senior Analyst will be based out of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
- Industry Research and Financial Analysis
- Evaluate viability of existing business models of portfolio companies through researching regional/global landscape and those of their competitors and formulate revised/revamped business models if necessary
- Assess market size, growth as well as market shares of industry players via competitor analysis
- Provide support to some portfolio companies with their market expansion strategy/prospects of entry to Cambodia in terms of market potential, regulatory and legal requirements
- Analyze historical financial data to have visibility on revenue growth, trend, major cost drivers, profit margins, as well as balance sheet strength of portfolio companies
- Review the budget of portfolio companies and examine monthly free cash flow and cash burns so as to better understand new equity financing required for sustaining the businesses
- Develop or assist portfolio companies with constructing a 5- or 10-year financial projection including balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements
- Prepare crisp and high-quality research reports, presentations, or discussion materials for the SME Portfolio Director as well as Senior Management of the firm
- Value Creation Work for Portfolio Companies
- Work as integral part of a small yet tight-knit team to assist portfolio companies with ‘value creation’ strategies of ‘Strategic growth and increasing market shares’ and ‘Operational improvements’
- Actively contribute to the market expansion plans, product diversification work, marketing strategy and bolt-on acquisitions of portfolio companies for their strategic growth and increasing market shares
- Analyze and identify optimal ways of cost reduction both at COGS and Operation level to increase profit margins
- Review and make recommendations on optimization of existing digital, operational and supply chain processes, which would lead to significant increase in productivity
- Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Management. Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or MBA is a plus
- Experiences & Skills:
- 2-4 years of professional experience in management/strategy consulting, investment banking, deal advisory, private equity or corporate finance. Candidates with management/strategy consulting experience would be considered favorably.
- Robust financial modeling coupled with strong commercial acumen to analyze both financial and operational data for formulating views and recommendations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with an attention to details
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle investee and stakeholder relationships
- English language fluency is required.
