Self-Employment Officer

Position Summary

THE ROLE

As a self-Employment Officer, you will base in Siem Reap where our Kaliyan Mith program is located. You will be part of the Employment Project team, which is supporting people by giving them the resources, training and mentoring so that they can start their own business. By having their own business they can take care of themselves and their family. You might be working with someone who wants to set up a food business, a Mechanic shop, a small farm etc. This is your opportunity to join our Employment team and work with young people and adults so they can build their futures! You’ll also be working together with a multicultural Friends’ teams and partners across Southeast Asia. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to a positive social impact on people’s lives to jump on board and start working alongside a multidisciplinary team of Kaliyan Mith Siem Reap counting more than 70 #EverydayHeroes!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • A professional accessible space, interesting to youth, caretakers and employers.is created and maintained
  • Youth and caretakers are welcomed and initial assessment conducted.
  • Training courses and workshops on employment readiness related topics are developed and delivered
  • Youth and caretakers are supported in creating a quality business plan and in all the steps related to setting-up a successful small business
  • Youth and caretakers placed in entrepreneurship receive close monitoring and support.
  • Futures services are promoted through social media, outreach, TV/radio programs, etc
  • Effective communication is kept with Futures colleagues to ensure that clients are receiving the support needed to be successful

You will be part of the Employment Project team, which is supporting people by giving them the resources, training and mentoring so that they can find a job they love. This is a great opportunity to work with young people and adults so they can build their futures! You could be supporting learning on a range of exciting topics such as communications, teamwork and creativity. You will also be working directly with employers and supporting them to find job seekers who match with their vacancies. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Designing a professional accessible space, that will attract youth, caretakers and employers
  • Welcoming youth and caretakers, conducting their assessments and referring them to psycho-social services when needed
  • Support youth and caretakers throughout the job placement process, including employment preparation, job placement, and close monitoring
  • Deliver training courses and workshops on employment readiness-related topics
  • Expand and build a safe employment network for job placement, apprenticeship and workshop
  • Strengthen the relationships with private companies so more people can get jobs and be independent

Hotline Social Worker

Position Summary

Are you interested in providing emergency support to children & youth, their families and their communities? Would you like to be learning and developing in an innovative organization and a multicultural team?

THE ROLE

As a Hotline Social Worker, you will be based in Siem Reap where our Kaliyan Mith program is located. Your role will be to respond to emergency support calls to our ChildSafe Hotline. This includes providing support to children&youth to get protection, emergency medical care or counseling support. You will also be building strong relationships with the local authorities, networking with NGO partners and working with the communities to ensure that children are safe and taken care of. This is a great opportunity for someone who has Social Work experience and is willing to grow more in emergency support services to jump on board and start working alongside a multidisciplinary team of Kaliyan Mith Siem Reap counting more than 70 #EverydayHeroes!

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • These would be examples of some of your daily responsibilities.
  • Respond to emergency Hotline calls and ensure children are safe and taken care off
  • Visit various communities and streets to provide needed services to people
  • Work together with community members and support them to protect children from any type of abuse
  • Coordinate with other teams to ensure children stay with their families and attend schools
  • Work closely with the employment team to ensure youth and caretakers are receiving support to find employment and become independent
  • Collaborate with local authorities and our partners on service referrals and sharing knowledge

Let's Eat! (Training Restaurant) Manager

THE ROLE

As a Let’s Eat! Manager, you will be based in Siem Reap where our Kaliyan Mith program is located. Your role will be to lead the team in building skills of youth and caretakers so that they can find jobs. This includes day-to-day management of our training restaurant, support learning of our Cooking and Service restaurant staff and ensuring the highest quality of the training to students. This is a great opportunity for someone who has strong experience working in hospitality to jump on board and start working alongside a multidisciplinary team of Kaliyan Mith Siem Reap counting more than 70 #EverydayHeroes!

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • These would be examples of some of your daily responsibilities.
  • Deliver training to students about the importance of Health&Hygiene in a restaurant
  • Manage the restaurant team and make work plans together
  • Talk with Social Workers to plan support needed for your students
  • Daily supervise all Let's Eat! operations and ensure the safety of teams and students
  • Contact other restaurants in Siem Reap to learn about the job market
  • Prepare reports on the progress and results of Let's Eat!
  • Liaise with partners to share the best practice model on training youth and caretakers for employment
Requirements:

  • You are a dynamic team leader who is passionate about working for the protection and education of marginalized children, youth and their families
  • You have strong experience in showing others/training them on how to work in a restaurant
  • You have some experience in managing a restaurant
  • You are comfortable collaborating with multiple teams and external partners (private companies, government, schools etc.)
  • You have excellent skills in spoken and written English, besides your native Khmer
  • You are comfortable with using MS Office and you know your way around social media
