Secondary Mathematics Teacher – Higher Maths

Position Circumstances

Position Summary

Reports to: Academic Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Advanced Instruction: Plan and teach advanced mathematics lessons (including calculus, statistics, and advanced algebra) aligned with rigorous international curricula.
  • Academic Preparation: Prepare upper secondary students for high-stakes external examinations, university matriculation, and STEM-focused pathways.
  • Analytical Thinking: Foster deep problem-solving skills, mathematical modeling, and rigorous logical reasoning.
  • Professional Collaboration: Collaborate with the high school faculty on curriculum mapping, cross-curricular projects, and standardizing assessment rubrics.
  • Community Engagement: Maintain clear, professional communication with parents regarding academic progress and university readiness.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Education (with a Math major), or a related STEM field
Work History:
  • Teaching advanced mathematics at the upper secondary or pre-university level for 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with Western Australian Upper Secondary pathways or similar international frameworks is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong English proficiency, strong classroom management for mature learners, and a commitment to fostering a growth mindset in a multicultural environment.
 
 

Secondary Science Teacher – Chemistry & Biology

Position Summary

Reports to: Academic Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Dual-Discipline Delivery: Deliver engaging, high-level instruction in both Chemistry and Biology to upper secondary students preparing for university-level science.
  • Laboratory Leadership: Design, set up, and supervise safe, inquiry-based laboratory experiments and practical assessments that reinforce theoretical concepts.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Align lesson plans with international upper secondary standards, ensuring deep conceptual understanding of organic/inorganic chemistry and molecular/evolutionary biology.
  • Resource Management: Manage science laboratory inventory, ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols, and collaborate on department resource planning.
  • School Contribution: Engage actively in the wider school community, including parent communication and science-related extracurricular initiatives.

Languages:
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Secondary Science Education, or a closely related scientific discipline
Work History:
  • Teaching Chemistry and/or Biology at the upper secondary level for 1 to 2 years as a minimum

General & Technical Skills
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with Western Australian Upper Secondary sciences or equivalent international frameworks is highly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong English communication skills, excellent laboratory management expertise, cultural adaptability, and a passion for inspiring scientific inquiry.
 
 

Assistant Academic Coordinator

Position Circumstances

Position Summary
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Academic Coordinator in managing, evaluating, and developing teachers and teacher assistants
  • Check and review the lesson plans of Khmer teachers to ensure alignment with the Khmer Language Curriculum
  • Monitor and review the curriculum and instruction quality of the Khmer language program
  • Serve as a substitute teacher and manage classroom environments when a Khmer teacher or regular teacher is absent
  • Manage, procure, and maintain inventory for classroom and office supplies
  • Assist in managing the academic calendar, student class schedules, and examination timetables
  • Work with teachers to constantly assess and improve student achievement results
  • Prepare and maintain student records according to school policies and regulations
  • Keep track of important faculty deadlines and send regular reminders to staff
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Khmer Literature, or a related discipline
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Proven working experience in campus management, school administration, or leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and student instruction
  • Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Khmer
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet & Email)
Soft Skills
  • Ability to train, develop, and motivate team members
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and administration skills
