Position Summary

NIRA International School is seeking a confident, knowledgeable and engaging

Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our growing

Secondary team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality

Mathematics teaching across Secondary grades, including preparing students for

Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics

examinations.

We are looking for a teacher with strong mathematical subject knowledge who can

explain concepts clearly, provide an appropriate level of challenge and use

active, student-centered teaching approaches to develop students’ mathematical

understanding, confidence and problem-solving skills.

Experience teaching the Cambridge curriculum, particularly IGCSE Mathematics, is highly desirable.

Salary: Based on qualification and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured Secondary Mathematics lessons.
  • Prepare students effectively for Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics examinations.
  • Demonstrate strong Mathematics subject knowledge and the ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and accurately.
  • Use active and student-centered teaching strategies that encourage participation, mathematical discussion, problem-solving and independent thinking.
  • Differentiate teaching appropriately to provide both targeted support and sufficient challenge for students of different abilities.
  • Foster students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, mathematical reasoning and confidence.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through a range of formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Use assessment data to identify gaps in learning, inform planning and provide targeted intervention or extension where required.
  • Maintain high expectations for student learning, participation, behavior and academic progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress.
  • Support the preparation of students for Mathematics competitions and enrichment opportunities, including SASMO, SIMOC, Mathematics Olympiads and other local and international events when applicable.
  • Contribute actively to school events, educational visits, extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to the continued development of Mathematics teaching and learning across the school.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Fluent is required
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education with a Mathematics specialism, or a closely related field
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Recognized teaching qualification, certification or teaching license.
  • Strong Mathematics subject knowledge appropriate for teaching Secondary
  • Experience teaching within an international school setting.
  • Experience with the Cambridge International curriculum.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge Lower Secondary Mathematics and preparing students for Cambridge Checkpoint.
  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching students across a range of abilities and adapting instruction accordingly.
  • Experience supporting Mathematics competitions, enrichment or academic intervention programmes.

NIRA International School is seeking a confident, knowledgeable and engaging Secondary Science Teacher to join our growing Secondary team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Science teaching across Secondary grades, including preparing students for Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

We are looking for a teacher with strong scientific subject knowledge who can explain concepts clearly, deliver effective practical learning and use active, student-centred approaches to develop students’ scientific understanding, curiosity, investigative skills and critical thinking.

Salary: Based on qualification and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured Secondary Science lessons.
  • Prepare students effectively for Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.
  • Demonstrate strong scientific subject knowledge and explain concepts clearly and accurately.
  • Plan and deliver practical investigations that develop scientific inquiry, experimentation and analytical skills.
  • Ensure practical activities are conducted safely and in accordance with school procedures.
  • Differentiate teaching appropriately to provide targeted support and sufficient challenge for students of different abilities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessment.
  • Use assessment data to identify gaps in learning, inform planning and provide targeted intervention or extension where required.
  • Maintain high expectations for student learning, participation, behaviour and academic progress.
  • Maintain Science resources, laboratory equipment and learning environments effectively.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress.
  • Support students participating in science fairs, innovation challenges, academic competitions and other local and international opportunities.
  • Contribute actively to school events, educational visits, extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support STEAM initiatives, cross-curricular learning and the continued development of Science teaching and learning across the school.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
